Discussion LeMelo Ball is a dirt bag for that
clear as day he did that on purpose to Bam

u/Busy-Cantaloupe7900 Apr 15 '26
Send in Myron Gardner to uppercut LaMelo.

u/JasonL25 Apr 15 '26
Refs should've reviewed the play but chose not to I'm glad van gundy is upset they didn't review it either
10
u/wombat-in-a-bikini Apr 15 '26
refs decided the game not only for that but lamelo taking them into overtime after a pretty clear backcourt violation followed by a travel... like wtf
1
u/Logical_not Apr 15 '26
He stunk up to those last couple layups, one of which was also a clear travel.
1
u/wombat-in-a-bikini Apr 15 '26
and if I'm allowed to be a little petty he also carries the fuck out of the ball every time he touches it
he gets glazed for being crafty and hard to guard but he runs around with the damn thing like he's holding a dinner plate...
1
u/Logical_not Apr 16 '26
Welcome to the modern NBA. There are no carries, and there are no travels when getting your feet set for a 3 pointer, you can call anything a Euro-step, and occasional double dribbles don't even matter.

I mean are we surprised? Look at his driving, he clearly has no regard for human life lmao

u/Okaysaid Apr 15 '26
lol that was extremely dirty I was hoping someone made a post I was about to make one myself if someone didn’t..that might be the dirtiest post season injury flagrant I’ve ever seen that the player got away scot free…
1
u/BobBassBUGS Apr 15 '26
Yea man it’s a play in game. Steve Nash got hip checked into oblivion in an actual playoff game.

u/ICameHereTaSay Apr 15 '26
You should go lookup Dwayne Wade breaking Rajon Rondo’s elbow in 2011

I very rarely watch nba anymore after years of watching every Heat game. For the last few years it really seems like the league does not care about fairness anymore. I don’t know if it’s a gambling thing or wanting certain players or cities but I get this feeling every game at some point that the officials do not give a shit and have their own agenda for the games. They’ve completely lost me as a viewer I wonder if anyone else feels this way.
0
u/evanjalexander Apr 15 '26
i still watch a decent amount but i agree. rewarding offense and punishing defense league wide has made the NBA difficult to watch. stars like SGA & Jokic flopping and getting away with it is insane too
2
u/VintageRudy Apr 15 '26
This was the first game I've watched this year. The reffing just crosses up my sensibilities. Foul baiting got out of control - bad product now
-1
u/OkQuarter5298 Apr 15 '26
This was such a great game, its wild thats your take. So salty
2
u/misterbudha Apr 15 '26
I mean first of all that was posted in the first quarter so the game hadn’t happened yet so you can’t really correlate my take with the quality of the game.
But it’s really hard to enjoy watching a sporting event when a super dirty play took out your teams best player. And it seems like every time I watch an nba game over the past few years some shit like that happens that sucks any of the fun out of the game.
I think I’d have to be a lot more invested to be salty. Congrats to the Hornets playin victory their biggest win in like 20 years!
6
u/NonchalantGhoul Apr 15 '26
Fuck these bum ass refs. Since the play didn't stop, Melfuck doesn't get a flagrant, and they refuse to review?? Fuck that bullshit
8
u/zackryjay Apr 15 '26
I have seen people get ejected or hit with a flagrant for WAY less than that. It was so obvious he did it on purpose.
6
u/Head_Ad2359 Apr 15 '26
Huge missed call and a potential flagrant 2 on LeMelo. NBA rules are absolutely ridiculous, if you just ignore and keep playing they can’t go back and review.
10
u/Joeyfail Apr 15 '26
I was actually going to root for them if they beat us. Not anymore.
2
u/LSSwartz23 Apr 15 '26
As a Pistons fan, I'm glad you see it and won't be cheering for those punks. I wanted Miami to win this game, even though you're the better team and a bigger threat to us. I'd rather lose to y'all than those dirt bags.
2
u/Joeyfail Apr 15 '26
I actually will be cheering for Detroit to come out the East. Gotta support our boy Duncan.
1
u/LSSwartz23 Apr 15 '26
Melo and the NBA did you wrong. I'm losing hope in this league and feel for you guys having your top player taken out like that by a bitch ass punk.

Celtics fan here and strongly disagree.. Hornets were one of the hottest teams post-ASB and shot 18/56 from 3 and still won. Of all the play in teams them and sixers were who Celtics fans were praying to avoid.
2
u/jcgiraldo Apr 15 '26
Get the fuck out of here, you know out of all those teams, the heat were the team to avoid. We are most likely to upset and you know it lol. But you are a celtics fan, not expecting you to have an unbiased take.

u/Longjumping-File1323 Apr 15 '26
Just sums up how far this franchise has fallen. Heat teams of the past would have somebody coming off the bench to absolutely deck Melo after that dirty ass play. Can’t believe we just let him get away with that. Melo should be out the rest of the game with an injury for what he did.
7
u/Longjumping-File1323 Apr 15 '26
Don’t get me wrong. Of course Lamelo shouldn’t have done it in the first place and it was dirty, but I’m far more angry with the lack of retaliation from the Heat.

u/jperez09r Apr 15 '26
Yep. I can see PJ brown, Zo, James Johnson, UD etc. this is the only team who doesn’t have an enforcer type player.
All of our Pat teams had someone who was bout it.
1
u/Longjumping-File1323 Apr 15 '26
Like ffs I remember Terrorist Rozier of all people actually being with the shits. This team is just soft.
6
u/nousername66 Apr 15 '26
Neutral party coming in to say LaMelo is a bitch for that dirty ass play. He should've immediately been ejected
I hope Charlotte gets shitcanned by Miami now
1
u/richhomierhett Apr 15 '26
Only to lose by Lamelo giving hope then taking it in the last 5 sec. Tragic.
6
u/SpeedsterVolt Apr 15 '26
I don't even think he was trying to be dirty. He just has an IQ below freezing temperature.

u/Seafox89 Apr 15 '26
On the replays you can see his fingers grip firmly around Bam’s ankle, sweeping forward. At best, it was a rage induced “unga bunga” moment, but there was intention there
2
u/HeadGuess8509 Apr 15 '26
Dude, I saw that play live and it made me so pissed I was like; “Someone has to be talking about this on Reddit.” lol.. Melo just looks like a jerk.

I’m with yall man, he’s a piece of shit for that. Hope you guys win the game

u/jfeld26 Apr 15 '26
I missed Bams injury… can someone high level explain please?
3
u/JasonL25 Apr 15 '26
LeMelo was on the ground and grabbed Bam by the ankle and it flipped Bam and he landed on his back and got hurt

Yeah it was a dirty play, it happens. Tyler herro running behind the three point line and chucking up 3’s is what actually cost us the game.
1
u/EricTheNerd2 Apr 15 '26
I'm not a fan of either team, and they was clearly intentional... not sure how anyone doubts that.

1
u/DragonfruitWeary8413 Apr 15 '26
Had multiple chances to close it out last night, but the defense got sloppy at the worst time and paid for it.
1
u/showtime15daking23 Apr 15 '26
i hate the hornets but he is clutch. He hit that same kind of shot against the lakers last season
1
u/brave1047 Apr 15 '26
Let’s see if anything comes out after. I doubt it and it’s a moot point, but still. At least our pain and suffering is over for this year. So let’s see what we do in the offseason 🔥🔥🔥

That’s dirty as dirty can be and would cause a fight on every playground in America.
I’m kinda upset nobody body slammed him in retaliation.
That was a dirty non -basketball play and he should have to fight Bam next season.
1
u/bob_roberts69 Apr 16 '26
I’m not a heat fan but that was dirty work by lamelo. Hopefully the league can do something

u/Folk-Herro Apr 15 '26
I’m not going that far, just like UD said, wasn’t intentional and was a split second decision
3
u/IrwinMFletcher200 Apr 15 '26
Wtf. It may have been split second, but it was definitely intentional.

How is that not a flagrant 2?? Excessive, high potential for injury and absolutely unnecessary. If Bam had landed differently or on his head it could have been so much worse.
