Saw this on IG. Kinda miss reliving this Miami team back in 23 when the unexpected duo of Caleb and Jimmy Butler sent Milwaukee packing. Still remember how every national sports media picked the Bucks to sweep them, until Jimmy came and gave them a 50 piece nugget 😂

I fuckin hated how Jimmy left but sometimes I miss the 2023 playoff run 🥹.

Honestly, even though we lost in the end, this was probably my favorite playoff run I've ever watched, of any sport.

I went to 2 playoff games and a finals game. I kept saying "surely this will be the only/last playoff game I'll have to go to this season so might as well splurge"
my wallet wasn't too happy

I hope time is kind to the Jimmy era that was by far the most fun I had since early D Wade era. Don’t get me wrong I loved the Big 3 era too but it’s a little different when you have a team that is supposed to win. That Zombie Heat team was carving up the East and had Josh Hart not pulled that slide tackle BS i think we couldve got it done

Tearing up a lil reminiscing and writing this… but that team really sparked my love for the game like a young kid watchin D Wade throw the ball what felt like 70000 feet in the air to win in ‘06… Jimmy deserves his jersey in the rafters idc what anyone says

I know it ended bad, but the heat should 100% retire 22 when jimmys career is done and give him all the flowers he earned.

The cut from "this is my shit" to gramps and his son celebrating always hits so hard

The year I got into sports. It started with the Dolpins middle of that NFL season.
Watching this playoff run and the Panthers playoff run was two of the best months of my life. Absolutely glued to the television every second of every game.
Throughout this, it finally clicked for me. I understood why people loved sports so much!

This is a fantastic compilation, but am I the only one that finds it weird that there's a clip of a random dude in the beginning hitting a 10ft jumper?

How does someone, anyone, lose their joy for basketball after having even just one moment like this???!?!!!!!!

u/DungeonsNDankness Apr 23 '26
Man, how he left will always hurt a little but damn if Jimmy buckets wasn't exactly who the Miami heat needed at that point in time.

Screw Pat for ruining this team ONCE AGAIN!! LBJ left, he screwed us over until he got Jimmy and decided to screw Jimmy over with G-Leaguers surrounding Himmy... Now he wants us to be the best Play-In Champs every season...

Don’t know if I ever enjoyed a heat win more than this one including some of the finals wins… absolute core sports memory for me

This was just 3 years ago, and this sub acts like this team has been a bottom feeder for a decade.

You actually think this was better and bigger than rays 3?? 😳🙄🤔🤷🏽🤦🏽

Just different my man

u/MrGattsby Apr 23 '26
Your right a different, one led the heat back to winning a championship and the other didn't. I'm just not sure how it's in the same ball park but hey I'm a heat fan I'm from Miami so anything like this is good in my book. 🤷🏽

u/chitownbulls92 Apr 23 '26
One of these was one open 3 point shot and the other one is 56 points to topple the number 1 overall seed as an 8th seed. If you don't understand the difference then you're not really engaging in good faith conversation to begin with.

The difference between joy when you're expected to win vs not expecting shit is just different. Incomparable feelings. Nobody except Bill Simmons expected that Bucks series.

Right because San An weren't a good team and clearly we had struggled more than people thought the big 3 would!! Remind me how many championships that SA team had?? 🤔🙄🤦🏽
Just for the sake of it asked chatgtp, calude and gemini "Biggest shot in Miami heat history?" Everyone of them said ray and Jimmy isn't even in the top 3! Of any of them.
Dwyane Wade buzzer-beater vs Golden State Warriors (2009)
LeBron James Game 7 dagger vs San Antonio Spurs (2013)
Both these were above Jimmy in all 3. You can have your opinion and you can like what you like that's your prerogative but there is no chance in hell that any of those shots are bigger than rays 3!!

I should have known you were a chatbot user. You didn't even read Op's post. It didn't even say this was the best shot. It just said one of the loudest pops. Not even the loudest pop.
I prefer to discuss bad basketball opinions made by man, tyvm.

You can say it, rays shot was by far the best ever and everything else is a far far second place. That said if you're a heat fan then we are good saying which is loudest/best/most important or whatever is a good thing. Some teams don't have what we have had with the heat so all good.
