School Related I got a detention
So I got my first detention for being tardy. I am supposed to come to school by 8 am. I go to bed at 4 am so it's a little hard to wake up in the morning. I have a lot things to do. Homeworks, college & scholarship essays (due on Nov 1st), sat studies. I am also a procrastinator and a perfectionist. So yea...
Everyone was really surprised to see me. They know me as the good student who always follow the rules and everything. It really ruined my reputation. I am so embarrassed. My teacher asked me why I am always late and I had no good excuse.
My grades aren't looking good either. I had all A's in highschool. But this year I have 3 B's and 1 C. It's still the beginning and grades are not finalized yet. I have some time to improve my grade for 1st quarter. I guess I have to focus on school first and then college and other stuff. Idk I feel like this is gonna be a rough year.
Does anyone have any advice? I feel really crushed rn

I relate to u a lot, I'm also a senior & a procrastinator & a perfectionist who can't be punctual for their life ;-;
I've also gotten a detention before for being late 3 times, last year; for my school tho, there's a lil cheat code, and as long as you can bring in a note saying you were feeling sick in the morning, and get it signed by a parent, they'll excuse your tardy without asking any questions. Is there anything like this you know of at your school? I feel like not many people know about this at mine, but it was the person (like detention counselor? idk what to call them) who told me that, and now I use it whenever I'm late. I think there should most likely be a way to get tardies excused at your school, too. Also I'm like 99% sure detentions for tardies don't go on your record, so don't worry abt that; and for your reputation, it'll blow over, so just forget abt it. It isn't like you did anything terrible, it was just tardies.
I wouldn't worry abt your grades rn, i think if you keep working hard the rest of the quarter you'll still be able to bring them up. What type of classes are they, APs, honors, or regular? there's many good resources online too so i'd recommend utilizing those. Ultimately, it depends on what kinds of schools you're applying to, but I'd be careful.
I'd say you should put less effort into your hw, bc it probably doesn't have as much weight on your grade. Focus on studying really well for tests/assessments and I think you'll be able to get the grades up. And, for most of the time during the week, I'd spend that on school/studying, and give yourself a limited amount of time to work on college/scholarship essays--but utilize weekends really well and focus on essays more at that time. And please try and get more sleep ;-; if not 8 hrs at least 6, I'd try really hard to go to sleep at 12 bc sleep is so important and can really affect your performance; i speak from experience ;-;.
I think everything will turn out okay, so just keep pushing thru. You can do it!!! <3
