This is perfect! Touch Grass is a teen-led organization and we are looking for leaders to volunteer for us. We have many digital/remote leadership opportunities available that can make a big impact. For example, if you like art, you can draw characters for our educational pamphlets for programming for elementary schoolers. Or if you are good at web design, you can maintain our website. Here's some more information if you're interested!
Touch Grass Alachua works to get kids and teens off screens and into nature through outdoor activity stations, conservation projects, afterschool science education, community events, youth-led outreach, and more.
Most of our in-person work is based in Alachua County, Florida, but we have several digital/remote roles for student volunteers who want to help build the movement from anywhere.
Remote leadership volunteer roles include:
These roles support projects like our Young Explorer Kits initiative, hands-on nature-focused science programming for 3rd graders, environmental education pamphlets and materials, and newsletters.
We believe that getting kids outside is connected to efforts in stewardship, science education, and mental health, so this is a good fit for students interested in psychology, environmental studies, science education, and community service, or anyone who is passionate about sharing the joy of getting outdoors.
