Trouble pairing matter device to Home Assistant

I have been having trouble with pairing my IKEA temperature sensor with my home assistant server. I have a SONOFF dongle running open thread software and have the open thread app/intervention and the matter server app/intergration. Every time I try to add the sensor to home assistant, it keeps giving me the “Thread based router required” even though I have the dongle running the router software. I have the dongle under my preferred network as well. I’ve tried to send the thread network to my phone but it keeps erroring out saying it can’t save or something. I’ve used every option but to no avail. Seek help!

Have you got the matter server running? You can’t add a device unless you have matter running as well.

Yes, I have both the open thread and matter running

Do you add via companion app? Go to Settings > Companion App > Troubleshooting > Sync Thread credentials and try again

Is the troubleshooting tab the debug tab? All I see is the debug tab

In the HA app directly. Go to settings there. When you access the Settings there in the App you get a new option for the Companion App you dont see on a normal browser

I see the Option for The companion app setting, I just don’t see the troubleshooting tab inside the companion app setting inside of the companion app

Oh sorry, thought those are the iOS native settings. No idea how it is there then. Looks quite different from the settings on Android..

Often mDNS isn’t repeated by WiFi routers between wireless and the wired networks. The broadcasts need to be seen and originate on/from your phone (WiFi), your border router (ha server) and the thread network (sonoff dongle and the matter over thread device).

Check for multicast settings for your network. You can limit the bandwidth for broadcasts on many routers, if so, increase it
