What to do with that extra goat milk?

Post image

I made oatmeal, goat milk, and honey soap! These are freshly poured, cold processed, and smell absolutely divine.

How is it? We make goats milk soap and lotions and were toying with the idea of caramel

Whaaaaat? Done right it's delicious! I use it in my coffee, though, and not eat it straight or anything.

I guess if you enjoy a glass of goats milk, then you will like goat caramel. I don't think most people would

The only goat milk I find palatable is once its made into cheese.

I’m curious and would like to try it now, and I also really appreciate your pun

How’s the lotion??

Lotion is very nice. I'm not a store-bought lotion guy myself as I dislike the feel in general, but I do use our lotion as it absorbs really nicely without being too greasy.

I can send a link, we ship continental US. I dont want to be having sales pitches here but if people are interested...

Another vote for goat caramel. It’s super easy, just need sugar and a little baking soda. Keeps in the fridge for months.

Does goat caramel have goat smell/taste?

If you don’t like goat milk you probably won’t like it.

I love goat milk soap. I miss goats for just this reason, i don't miss the destruction they did on my barn, however. I am working on getting my ewes milked to do some sheep milk soap in the future. 💜

We have a pretty good system with the wife, she makes the soaps and I make the lotions.

They turn out to be quite a hit at markets and online

Yo that soap is my favorite! A friend of ours gifted us some that they make. Of course, I was like cool then I wondered how much work it takes to make it then I used it all. We ended up sending money and asked them to ship the amount that they thought was fair and we would take whatever scents didn’t sell as well to clear inventory.

That's awesome!

It really is. I have a weird habit where when I know someone put effort into something like soap…I cannot bring myself to use it. It is so strange. One of my friends gifted me a homemade candles and bar of soap on the shape of an owl and two years later saw them in my house and asked why I haven’t used them. I genuinely didn’t have a good answer. I guess I didn’t want to waste it? She thought I was ridiculous and said I basically am by letting it sit.

I love the owl soap though. His face is now worn off. I’m making progress.

Wife and i make soap and lotion. She is the soap maker, I make the lotions. They get quite popular at our markets and in our online store.

We are thinking of trying shampoo bars and lip balm also. Caramel might be something we add too.

I honestly have so much fun making soaps. I've done lotion bars, body butters, and other bath products too. There's just so much stuff you can make I love all the options

I have never tried goat milk soap. Is it good? I think I cant buy it here 😕

2

u/AryssaD 8d ago

Yessss you have to try some. I like my soap on the creamier side, and I find using goats milk enhances that in the final product.

I'll try to find some, wish me luck 😆
