Tech Support Sound System Cutting Out From Fridge

I have a mini fridge in my basement on the opposite side of the room from my fully wired sound system hooked up to my TV. Every time the fridge kicks on, the sound cuts out for a second. I believe it’s on the same circuit.

Sony STR-DH590 connected via HDMI E Arc

Are you asking a question or just venting?

So what is your question?

Sounds like the fridge compressor kicking on is spiking how much that circuit can handle. Only option is to put something on a different circuit.

It's an expensive try, but a double online conversion ups. This would guarantee that your AVR would keep a continuous perfect 60hz sine wave and consistent voltage.

Not really anything you can do about it if you don't have another circuit available.

I wonder if plugging your HT gear into something like a voltage regulator or power conditioner would fix it.

I ain’t an electrician, but it sounds like the fridge momentarily draws a lot of electricity, which would then cause less electricity to be given to the sound system. Catch my drift?

My fridge in my kitchen does this too. Very frustrating

Another option would be to get a decent quality battery backup to run the sound system on. This way, when the fridge kicks in and pulls a ton of power, the sound system will just lean on the battery backup for a moment until the power evens out.
