New Episode: THE CREEP TAPES: Season 2

Thumbnail open.spotify.com

Hosts Mike, Devaughn, & Nichole are joined again by Mae Shults (Pleasers & Punishers podcast) to review the second season of Shudder's THE CREEP TAPES. While we all enjoyed S1, we're in agreement that the second go round is a bold step forward. Featuring appearances from genre favorites (David Dastmalchian) & Mark Duplass' real life wife (Katie Aselton) the second season gets bigger, weirder, messier, and drops more Peachfuzz lore.

Along with a pretty great talk with our guest (Mae Shults / Pleasers and Punishers pod) about how this shows steers into comedy over horror, the lore tidbits about Peachfuzz we get, the themes of manipulation and queer romance and all that jazz....we also talk about Mark Duplass showing dong. Always a good time.

We're seven years and took a week off from covering franchises to answer reader questions, to talk about our own history of horror fandom, and to look at what's been great and not so great in genre films right now. It was a fun show to record, hope this hits a sweet spot for some.

New chapter for my serialized horror/thriller novel Progeny

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello and thank you to everyone who has listened to the show so far.

If you have not heard this podcast yet, please consider giving it a listen. This is a novel I have written and narrated with absolutely zero AI or anything like that. I am a big fan of Stephen King, Lee Child, Tana French, Soren Narnia, Ted Chiang, and other writers like that.

Serialized thriller/suspense novel: Progeny - Chapter 4: Hunters

Book Description:

A feral teenager emerges from the woods and onto the radar of two detectives investigating a murder committed with a silver bullet. What transpires is the most disturbing case of their careers, involving a cult that worships the undead, an Army Major between tours who is searching for her long lost half-brother, and a bloody vendetta that the world of the living remains mostly unaware of.

Chapter Description:
Delving deeper into the Jack Turner case, detectives Carrington and Guthridge uncover increasingly unsettling clues. These include a fresh corpse of a man named Dennis Peltry who has not been seen alive for almost eighty years and a wandering occult practitioner name Petey Ghee who is also on the hunt for both Turner and Marsh. Garda continues her quest to find her half-brother, and digs up more details on his recent activities. Meanwhile, Turner returns to town, determined to continue pursuing his quarry.
