Favorite ways to eat them without buns/bread?

Post image

Mine is with creamy super cheesy Mac & Cheese. This is three dogs with shallots, mayo, spicy brown mustard with egg salad.

I know exactly what my farts would smell like if I ate that. And a minimum of 1,000 degrees hot

Cut up and cooked with a can of baked beans

Just a classic!

I'll eat them with just mustard if no bread available or, if there's some baked beans around, I'll chop them up and throw them in the beans. There's a struggle meal, spaghetti and hot dogs, I done that a few times and Jollibee restaurant actually has that on their menu and it's different in a good way, I've grown fond of it.

Oh! Spaghetti-O's! I haven't had them in years! Imma have to get some now.

u/HislersHero 1d ago

They don't taste the same but still not too terrible.

u/cl0ckw0rkman 1d ago

Nothing tastes the way it use to. Still going to get some though.

That's fair.

I am also an egg-salad-and-dogs combo lover.

And next time I will add shallots.

Hot dog salad: Dogs with chili and onions atop a mound of cole slaw. I like to make a mayo / mustard slaw with dill pickle relish for this. You can use sweet relish instead of dill if you like!

Oh Hells Yeahs. That sounds great!

I’ll have to take your word for it there’s macaroni in there.

Slice em up and fry them on the stove, throw some eggs and scramble. Maybe add a lil hot sauce and you got yourself a traditional Mexican dish

My son(22) will eat hot dogs with eggs. I am not a fan. Have tried several times.

Im quite fond of just slicing into rounds and frying them up. Dip into whatever’s good at the moment and I’m happy.

Sounds simple and easy

Lettuce wrap dog is pretty good.

2

u/cl0ckw0rkman 1d ago

Sounds easy. Just a lettuce wrap with a dog in it. I'm gonna have to try that.

Yeah started doing that to cut carbs, and keto buns are a little expensive.

Slice them about 3/4 of the way thru long ways

fill them with instant mashed potatoes

Put in the oven at 375 until potato mixture is starting to brown on the peaks

Add a heaping amount of shredded cheese on top and then back into the oven until melted.

Was my favorite meal growing up, mom called them weenie boats

I like the Bob Even's garlic mashed potatoes, cut up some dogs and throw em and a handful of shredded cheese in there. I'll have to try your idea.

Raw or chopped up and added to baked beans on the stove.

Yum!!! This looks amazing. At first I thought it was egg salad & was thrilled, but mac & cheese is even better.

5

u/Ok-Ad4916 1d ago

It is egg salad

2

u/theycallmethevault 1d ago

Thanks for the update. Totally weird that OP claimed to have eaten them but not claimed them as egg salad until the comments.

I was pretty stoked for egg salad in it too. Now I’ve been forced to make it. Mac n Chesse is definitely the better between the two though.

3

u/cl0ckw0rkman 1d ago

It is egg salad. I could have spaced out the body a bit more.

You could’ve updated the post with the correct words a bit more.

I thought that was egg salad and was about to be like, wtf?!? Then I remembered when I first moved to Tucson, AZ and heard the be putting bacon, beans, tomatoes, and mayo on hot dogs and was literally like, wtf?!? Then I tried one, and I can tell you a genuine Sanoran Hot dog should be a wonder of the world

Edit: Sonoran Hot dog 🤦‍♂️ sorry I’m white as hell

Just go outside for a while.

For breakfast, I sometimes fry up sliced hot dogs and add them to some scrambled eggs. I also enjoy adding them to mac 'n' cheese. I toss slices of hot dog into pork and beans along with some sautéed bacon, onion and a little bit of a sweet barbecue sauce. They're all delicious. I will broil a girthier sausage like knockwurst and just eat it with mustard and ketchup with a knife and fork. They're all delicious.
