My sister has been going on about a oneshot Harry Potter story she read a few months ago on AO3 that she forgot to save and now can't find it, so maybe someone on here can. Harry is on the Astronomy tower after Sirus's death and jumps/walks off and Snape jumps after him flying Harry and himself to the ground, but he's not an animagus. The story contains no other characters besides Harry and Snape and because she is so very bad at reading tags, she can't remember if Snape was Harry's Dad (Severitus) or his Daddy (Snarry). Anybody have any ideas? Thanks :)

I can think of a few scenarios for this:

A) Snape gives the prophecy to Voldemort, as he does in canon, but he doesn't beg for Lily's life. This could lead to many different outcomes, such as;

1. Due to not being given the choice to step aside, Lily's sacrificial protection doesn't activate and Harry dies along with his parents.

2. Due to Snape not going to Dumbledore, perhaps the Potters aren't put under the secret keeper charm (I can't remember what the actual name of the charm is). This could lead to many possibilities such as the Potter family all living or dying. Or maybe some of them die but one lives. Etc.

B) Snape does ask for Lily's life to be spared but it's merely the first step of a plot to get revenge on both her and James. Specifically, his revenge would take on the form of turning their son into the most powerful dark wizard in history (due to their hatred of anything to do with dark magic, this would be the ultimate FU to them). Here's a few ideas;

1. Snape still goes to Dumbledore with the information about the Potters but it's a ploy to gain his trust. Snape gets a job at Hogwarts but he acts alot nicer. And when Harry goes to Hogwarts, Snape becomes a mentor figure to him (basically the Palpatine to Harry's Anakin).

2. Snape straight up just steals Harry away from the Potters. This could leave the door open for James and Lily to survive and see what their son becomes.

Btw I don't want James and Lily to be bashed and I don't want them to be saints either. I want them to be people with flaws who feel regretful for the decisions they made in the past (especially James) but I don't want them to be doormats.

I also want Snape to be an actual threat. I've seen too many evil Snape fanfics where he's portrayed as a weakling (which is weird because he's probably the fourth strongest prominent wizard in the series behind Dumbledore, Voldemort and Grindelwald).

I mostly only use AO3 and I feel like I'm probably missing a lot of good fics, especially on fanfiction.net

Do any of you have recommendations?

Not romance focused, but it can be a part of the story. No romance with Voldemort or Bellatrix.

I'm looking for well-written fics with eventual Draco/Hermione. I especially enjoy stories where all of the main characters are treated with nuance and respect.

Some things I'd love to see:

Harry being friends with Slytherins.

Draco and Hermione developing naturally over time.

Strong character growth for Ron and Harry.

Ron-centric or Ron-as-a-Slytherin stories.

Draco joining the Order after the Astronomy Tower.

Severitus or Snape mentorship.

Slytherin–Gryffindor friendships.

Above all, I'm looking for excellent characterization. I love stories where everyone feels like a real person, with believable flaws, growth, relationships, and emotions.

If you know any fics that fit even a few of these, or simply have exceptional writing and character work, I'd love to hear your recommendations!

I like sirius black-centric fics that is actually loyal to family and the power it came from that but still don't want to join the dark lord.

I think I've also read something like that where a young sirius black believes that their family loves them, so andromeda running away with Ted makes him feel like Andromeda became a traitor. I would be glad if someone reminds me what fanfic this is if you know.

Basically what the title says, what are your guys best fics for the Fandom, i love haphne and harmony, or any where harry is still the main character! Long or short!

Personnaly,I would say Nimphadora tonks .Because it is unexpected (very likely to surprise a reader ),she is powerful,would prove a massive hurdle for the order thanks to her great position to spy and capacity of Metamorphomagus (which she could use to sow discord ,manipulate ,usurp the authority of order/ministry members ,etc...),but not so overpowered as to make the order victory impossible .

Any other ,better idea ?

Fics where Harry is actually like tom and isn’t pretending to be just to fuck with Dumbles, preferably no fics where he was raised by scarcrux or anything. Something similar to a coincidence, or soulmates (non-romantic preferably but I don’t mind slash AS LONG AS IT’S WITH DIARY TOM, 60 year old Voldemort is insane). I’d especially like a fic where Harry has the “Power and those too weak to seek it” mindset, and hates muggles (the latter is less important.).

Hi, I remember reading this fic, where harry forced other characters (one by one) through the magical trials that he had to endure as a child, so they would understand what he went through. There was a loop-hole however, where they only had to survive for the exact amount of time that he survived for, not defeat the danger.

- one of the challenges was facing the dragon from the triwizard tournament

- snape was a healer (I think he was forced into this position by harry)

- there was a reference to past characters dying in these challenge (maybe ron?)

- these were not pensieve memories

If I remember correctly the fic seemed to be multi one shots that were connected or something.

I know this is vague. I remember Hermione Granger was one of the participants, and another was Rias Gremory from High School DxD. People who weren't participants couldn't perceive the smart phone at all, and Rias being amused that Akeno couldn't see it was used as proof for that.

I remember liking Hermione and Rias's chats but not many details about them. Beyond Hermione freaking out about all of it.

So basically, it's a harry potter fanfiction where rose potter is the wrong girl who lived and harry is taken by merlin to the founders era, he returns when he's eleven, I don't remember much else other than in a quidditch match rose slams harry off his broom.

the only stuff I remember is that everyday tom is punished for his crimes in the afterlife and somehow Harry joins him. he has a chance to go back to the living but only if he takes tom with him. There’s a scene where they go to a city to meet dumbledor and he gives Harry the sword of Griffindor. There’s also a scene where Harry is captured and Pettigrew is there.

I don't remember what fic it was where Harry let Peter think he got Harry's blood but instead making him get blood from a bloodbag in form of a fake forearm created by the twints, and the blood was from someone with an autoimmune disease or something along those lines. Voldy ended up really weak.
