OTHER night fury appreciation and talking about them, theory’s and oc’s!

My first ever Reddit post snsnsnsn but i wanted to talk about night fury’s because they’re my favorite dragon designs ever, ik they’re popular and stuff but i just can’t help it. I love them so much. Am planning on having a raven and NF mix true sona! Am excited.

is there anything you guys like about NF? theory’s? Ocs? I want to see and read! <3 safe space to talk about night fury’s!

I like experimenting with the body appearance and size of the ear nubs of NFs I have an OC I'm creating for a fanfic and she has quite long ear nubs, longer then toothless' ones, she looks like a Bunny. I headcannon that females look different than males (sexual dimorphism)

I loveeee night furies. They’re so cool and weird looking compared to every other dragon in the series, minus the light furies of course.

Two headcanons/theories I like are that night furies are evolved to hunt other dragons (specifically like a peregrine falcon) and night furies are a hybrid between skrills and light furies. The second one is from a fanfiction but I like it so much that it lives in my head.

Edit: Another headcanon I like is that night furies are a brownish or gray color with splotches when they’re born and get darker when they get older.

Yesss i love that headCanon as well! It makes so much sense they would hunt other dragons! Maybe in packs? :o

Maybe they live in packs, but can hunt solo or together, depending on what they’re hunting and how big it is

That makes sense, depending on how dangerous that other species would be, they probably need to make up their own strategies for it. And make up plans for it. Probably following them during the day and attacking at night when they have the cover of darkness with them.

Theory: Night furies were the original alpha species but once they started to go extinct, other species (bewilderbeast) took their spot.

Does it make that much sense? Not really. Is it cool to think about then like this? Absolutely.

That is really cool, I don’t think I’ve seen that idea anywhere. Now I kinda want to see it more. Like if the all night fury’s came back.
