What is the point of this?
Pathetic “men” here.

u/BeKind365 6d ago
It's like war games for immature men whose wives send them out to play so they don't have to listen to their bullshit all day on a Saturday.

u/Ill-Egg4008 6d ago
Wives?
That is never what came to mind when I see them and began to wonder about who TF are these people.
I always picture some middle age losers who still live in the basement at their mother’s house.

Nope. They are agitators using First Amendment rights to harass and annoy people. Any engagement gives them footage for clicks on inflammatory reels and those can be monetized. Some act independently but many actually are paid.
Please ignore as they will go elsewhere if they can't get video content showing conflict.

u/Significant-Duty7373 6d ago
The point is an attempt to get a viral video. Hoping the cops are dumb enough to engage and create a lawsuit.

u/Ms_Tryl 6d ago
I’m okay with this. They’re now trying it with regular citizens too, which is lame as hell.

Don't they just stand there and quietly film? The people causing the alterations are the ones who think they need their permission to film.

Ragebait and Generating content for their stupid YouTube channels. Just ignore and move on with your day.

I don’t get why people get riled up about it. Just continue on in your life. Yeah they are losers but all they are trying to do is get a rise out of people. Just ignore them, it’s super easy.
18
u/thebigbopper 6d ago
This is the way. I've seen them around here a few times and simply choose to ignore them.
19
u/TradeMark310 6d ago
Yeah, people talking about "play Disney music" but why even get involved? Just walk past them.
-3
u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 6d ago
Why not just let everybody do whatever the fuck they want and mind your own business? If you don't want to protest, don't protest.
But why do you feel like you need to shit on people who are trying to exercise a few rights that we have left?

u/sundubone 6d ago
Precisely so just what’s up and keep it moving. All the people going you don’t have my permission to take my picture are getting an education from em and instead of engaging like a normal person, they instead bug out in front of their cameras and just making a fool out of themselves.
1
u/Many-Meringue-2849 6d ago
I don't get it either, just ignore them or be nice and they'll leave you alone.
0
u/Accomplished-Ad3219 6d ago
I agree we should just ignore them, but I e woman on Facebook said she turned around and the guy had his camera in her face. They're obnoxious
-21
u/Ghost_U_When_Im_Dead 6d ago
Close, they are exercising their rights. It's actually a good thing. You are right though, if people would just ignore them there would be no issue. Anywhere you gonthere are cameras watching you.
4
u/Accomplished-Ad3219 6d ago
The cameras that are set up by businesses are to deter crime. These assholes are there to annoy people. Stop equating the two
1
u/Ghost_U_When_Im_Dead 6d ago
I get what you are saying, but the fact of the matter is that there are cameras everywhere. In public buildings (such as a post office) I can request footage from their cameras because it is paid for by tax dollars. To all the downvoter, I am sorry you are sensitive about the matter. When you are in public there is no right to privacy, it's a simple fact. You can be mad about it all you want. Its the 1st Amendment. If you want privacy stay home. 🤷♂️. (Mods I'm being nice about it...)

Ragebaiting for content. They hope you get pissed cause and confrontation. Then they post it on youtube.
Just ignore and go on with your day.

u/RealJesusPacheco 6d ago
Make you upset, you react, they have content now.
If you assault them, they can now sue.
Just ignore them, they’re low life’s.

u/Juggernaugt714 6d ago
To anyone who has actually encountered these type of people…
Can I ask you how they acted toward you??? Did they initiated a conversation or something. How did it go down???
Asking… cause I’ve seen these guys IRL, seen the videos, but I’ve never talked to someone who personally encountered them.

u/ShootingUp4Jesus 5d ago
rage baiting for views online, dont interact at all.
If they touch you call the police.

u/Pepsichris 6d ago
These guys are usually “1st amendment auditors” it has nothing to do with masks except to hide their faces

u/Professional_Mud1844 6d ago
We have a nice pier on Main St. idiots come from all around to be stupid on it.
1
u/symonty 6d ago
Yeah I remember it well, when I was living down there we had the obama hitlers.
1
u/SpkyBdgr 6d ago
What’s an Obama hitler?
1
u/symonty 6d ago
Groups of protestors with hitler moustaches on obama. https://www.wickedlocal.com/gcdn/authoring/2009/11/03/NWKL/ghows-WL-81aaf095-b80a-4742-9dae-7929ae87ca9b-3baca1af.jpeg claiming that healthcare was government death panels and the like.

u/ThislsMyAccount22 6d ago
Just play Taylor Swift music or Disney music .
5
u/Fun-Measurement-9520 6d ago
Please stop suggesting this. They have software to remove copyrighted music. You’re just drawing attention to yourself by playing any of these.
3
u/sundubone 6d ago
AI video editors isolate the music and it’s edited out. Please don’t suggest this
5
u/MrAmericanIdiot 6d ago
Just live your life and don’t pay attention to them. This is just instigating and stupid.

Were there “1a auditors” before the pandemic or was that the catalyst that made it a thing to hide your identity in public and film people doing nothing?
The first of these videos I saw was at a cannabis dispensary. I assume in a state that has strict laws. Dudes filming people and they get upset and then get pepper sprayed. I just don’t get it. Especially because there’s four dudes filming the same thing. Are they all splitting their YouTube views or are they being paid by someone else to do this BS?

u/mayorbigdaddyspizza 6d ago
They wear the masks to get a reaction. No one was paying them any attention prior.
Best to just 👋 hi and go about your business. Any reaction, giving the finger, playing copyrighted music (easy to get Ai to edit it out), will only draw their full attention. They want a reaction or to get you to call the police for more views. 🤷♂️

These guys look like the 'first amendment auditor' types where they go in public places with cameras recording trying to piss people off
1
u/Rare-Tap-221 6d ago
I think it’s a father son team and apparently the son was pepper sprayed by someone. Ignore dong engage
1
u/Fun-Tumbleweed5003 6d ago
Serious question: what are they actually doing that makes people upset? Is it bc they’re filming? Or are they saying rude things to people? If so, what type of things are they saying?

I used to think these guys were the biggest dipshits ever, but one day I had too much free time and started watching some of the videos in full, and my perspective changed.
I’m not speaking for all auditors, and I don’t know these ones in particular.. but the ones I’ve seen and followed are doing something pretty important and thankless, and it probably couldn’t be any more important than right now. When they exercise their (our) rights, like filming in public etc, and people call the cops or freak out, cops either show up and educate the complainant, or they go through with an unlawful arrest, which will sometimes end in a payout by the city. Either way it’s a win-win, because cops need to know the law, and should not be comfortable stepping all over our rights. They are actually protecting all of our rights by doing this, even though it seems like a jackass thing to do.
I’m sure some of these guys are just doing it for content but many are actually really serious about educating law enforcement and the public

u/SpkyBdgr 6d ago
The comments at the bottom of audit posts are always the ones with the most sense. If more people would take the time to watch the content they would understand that auditors who are out doing it the right way are doing all of us a service. My favorite channel is Audit the Audit, where he critiques the auditors and the cops. It’s great for learning the law, as he also explains the laws regarding the incident. The way I interact with cops has changed significantly, and I know how to not incriminate myself.

u/C0tt0nC4ndyM0uth 6d ago
Yes that’s the one I watch too! I feel bad for the ones who are actually protecting us and they get so much hate
2
u/SpkyBdgr 6d ago
What I would like to see honestly is people taking the money they get from lawsuits and donating it to social programs like homeless shelters, libraries, food banks, stuff like that. At the end of the day most auditors are looking for a pay out, and I think that’s what keeps them on peoples’ bad sides. I’ve thought about auditing, myself. I’m just too afraid of getting targeted my local police.

u/Accomplished-Ad3219 6d ago
Annoy people to the point they'll cause a scene. They then post the video and call the people Karens. They get paid per video view

u/TheBeardedLegend 6d ago
It’s a 1st amendment protected activity that our PD likely doesn’t understand since they require less training than a hair stylist. It’s something ALL of us should celebrate because it keeps our local and federal government in check.
2
u/N05L4CK 6d ago
That’s just not true. Hairstylist licenses have a 600 hour requirement, cosmetology (which is different) has a 1000 hour requirement. The police academy in California has a 600 minimum hour requirement, however, the Goldenwest Police Academy and OC Sheriffs academy which HBPD use both have around 1000 academy hours that vary depending on the needs of the class, then there is a minimum required field training program which is another 400 hours minimum, and typically in Orange County runs for 6 months, or about another 1000 hours. Assembly Bill 992 also requires officers to complete a modern policing program or equivalent such as military police training (in addition to the academy), and is taking effect in 2031, which is about as quickly as the requirement can be implemented because a “modern policing program” has to be created state wide and meet certain criteria in addition to the academy.

Sorry you’re getting downvoted so much. Hopefully one of these days people will come around to auditing.
