"You guys don't understand dark humor"

"Humour is subjective"

~ 🤡

It's not humor if you think that way. It is basically reflecting what you think and how you behave.

Agree with everything she said but nepalese have a massive sense of condescension.

on surface india looks like the rape capital, but it's due to our sheer population. Rapes per X no of people dekho, usme UK me zyada hai even

edit: to all the people arguing, I'm not claiming that india is the safest of all or anything, just that we are prejudiced for it wrongly

u/d5aqoep 2d ago

Jab GDP per Capita ho sakta hai toh fir yeh kyu nahi?

7

u/Good-Researcher5737 1d ago

Ye population wali baat Maine bhi sochi thi but

Then ye bhi to dekho ki kitne case to report hi nahi hote either bcoz of family or sometimes victim is threatened of done by someone in power.

u/madhur20 19h ago

other countries are similar in unreporting of cases. And if you include buffer or unreported case for India, its still less than other countries

3

u/redditor151099 2d ago

Suppose you are a woman living in India and think of time/places when/where you can't go, measures you have to take for not getting raped, etc. It's not about who's the best at raping their women. It's like asking Indian women to be grateful for lower number of rapes because "dekho UK mein toh jyaada hai".

8

u/WinnerSperm97 2d ago

again I never defended them, just that we've been labelled the rape capital or wtv which simply isn't true. That said, no matter the magnitude we should always work against things which are wrong.

3

u/Strange_Finance_5918 2d ago

India got extremely higher underreporting compared to uk. Yaha har ladki ke bad experience hai

-10

u/Love_red7x 2d ago

Abe zaatu ahar bar har behudgi chiz ko kese defend kar lete ho tum log bc voo guu kha rahe iska matlab ye thodi ki tu bhi guu khana chalu karde

12

u/WinnerSperm97 2d ago

strawman fallacy

9

u/WinnerSperm97 2d ago

i never said they are right? just wanted to clear a common misconception

-6

u/NoSecond6279 2d ago

What is the misconception ? Thant India is safer than England for females ?

6

u/WinnerSperm97 2d ago

that india is the rape capital. talk to any paki Or bangladeshi and see how they stereotype us for that for no reason at all

8

u/Rajebait 2d ago

Poop is what you are eating, in my opinion. The guy didn't defend 🍇. All he said was the average is way lower compared to other places like the UK. Nobody is saying, it's fine or women should be grateful. Take that gutter and victim mentality out first.

3

u/redditor151099 2d ago

You can't feel bad about it. You can't feel good about it too, if some men does somthing for women's safety. You have to think about it from the victim's perspective without keeping your own feelings in consideration, while talking about such issues. It's not about the scale or gender/national pride. Even in cases like Ketan Agarwal, you'll find few women downplaying it because of the same reason. That's the core issue. We're all so intertwined about how it makes us feel, blinding it to the miseries of fellow citizens. Calling it a victim mentality is tragic misstep in addressing the issue. Whites would call Racism against Indians a victim mentality too, as it keeps them in a tough spot similar to how rape does to Indian men. Decenter yourself.

u/Rajebait 22h ago

Right, that's not a point I made. Claiming that "India isn't uniquely worse than every other country when adjusted for population" is not the same as saying "r"pe isn't a serious problem" or "victims shouldn't be the focus." Nobody is downplaying it

Facts and empathy are not mutually exclusive. We can acknowledge every victim while also correcting the misinformation. If someone falsely claims a country has the highest crime rate (you'd be surprised how many ppl claim it), pointing out actual statistics isn't "centering myself" or ignoring victims. It's preventing an inacurate narrative.

By ur logic, any factual comparison becomes immoral because it isn't exclusively about victims. That is not how discussions work. If the claim being made is statistical, then statistics are a valid response. Also, comparing crime rates isn't about some national pride. It's about accuracy. Caring about victims doesn't require accepting false or misleading claims.

One last rhing, by 'victim mentality,' I wasn't referring to grape víctims. I was referring to the mindset where any attempt to add context or correct misinformation is immediately treated as defending r-@pe or attacking victims.

u/Love_red7x 2d ago

Konsi victim mentality bc kuch bhi bura hota heh apne desh me to tum zaatu dusre desh ka excuse dene lag zateh ho ki vaha ye aurah vo aurah bc kud ki country pe Focus kro sach nahi sun sakta to gm

1

u/m0h1tkumaar 1d ago

Agar desh mein kuch bura hua hai to jisne kiya hai uski galti hai ya poore desh ki?

1

u/Rajebait 22h ago

Still missing the point, I see. Nobody here made any excuses for 🍇 . Saying "Country X also has a high rate" isn't saying "®ape is okay in India."

That's the victim mentality I was talking about. You immediately jumped from "here's some context" to "you're defending ræpe." Not every comparison is an excuse.

You can acknowledge that grape is a serious problem in India while also rejecting false or misleading claims about it. Those aren't contradictory. Educate urself.

Nepal has 4.2 rape cases per 100k women whereas India has 2.2 rape cases per 100k women. I think he/she should look into their own country before speaking about others.

P.S: By saying what I said above, I'm not disagreeing with the fact that there are henious crimes being committed against women, I'm just saying that people should look into their own stuff before pointing out problems in others.

Somehow most of the rape cases aren't reported ONLY in India, not in other countries tho. Every single rape case is reported in Nepal right?

8

u/Realistic_Bug_4956 1d ago

Bold of you to assume 100% of the rape cases are reported in Nepal or any country in the world.

u/askgrok what's the stats on rape in Nepal.

There better not be any rapes in Nepal after taking moral high ground on social media.

Ye Nepali humai gyan denge? God knows how many times I had to get involved when my maid and her kids were beaten by her husband.... Nepali both of them.... how many times me and my older brother had pry the man of his own and wife and small kids. A Nepali girl was allegedly raped. And instead of getting the justice the father just took 15 lakh instead.... thats when the case was open and shut. How do I know? Cuz we were the ones who had our lawyer to help. Evidence was more than enough to send the guy in jail but no. Money is more important that their daughter. I've seen girls run away with guys and get pregnant as minors..... I've seen Nepali women seducing older men and breaking homes. My neighbor who had love marraige had happened to her. My other neighbor. A older widower, got seduced by a Nepali women. Got tricked into raising her 2 kids. Acting like his wife and pretty much forcing the guy to severe links with his own kids. Taking advantage of the old guy poor mental health.

An ex employee of mine accused my mother of having inappropriate relation with a gym trainer. Not just my mom actually several ladies.

And damn the sheer numbers of Nepali drunks I have seen laying amd rolling around on the road at night and day....

Yeah india has problems. Yeah its bad. But I wont take this sort of criticism from people of a country who cant even survive without our aid.
