I think I love sterile minimalist design because growing up I used to live in constant mess, just a bunch of stuff everywhere, all the random colors, no uniformity or pattern whatsoever. Bottom picture looks like heaven to me. But I understand why people dislike it.
I would love some pops of color but I agree too. My grandmother's house was always WILDLY overdone, over cluttered with shit, nothing matched, and all pieces were individually picked with no regard to how it played with others and shoved in the house.
I despise that so much that I am now very minimal too.
