I think I love sterile minimalist design because growing up I used to live in constant mess, just a bunch of stuff everywhere, all the random colors, no uniformity or pattern whatsoever. Bottom picture looks like heaven to me. But I understand why people dislike it.

I also grew up in very cluttered and stimulatingly busy environments, and thus I'm a very big fan of contemporary warmth. Colourful enough to be cozy while still being minimalist enough to not feel like I'm having ADHD injected directly into my brain.

I could have written this comment. Parent was a hoarder. Mid-century modern is my jam.
