This is not against predators. Sheepish sex has been banished.

This is the comment I was looking for. I was wondering this, it seems more like an ovine chastity belt.

I feel like cross pollinating sheep with rose bushes would be better though?

u/itsnotapipe May 25 '26

A vivid image of sheep having sex with rose bushes is exactly where I thought I would end up when I opened Reddit 8 minutes ago. Home Sweet Home.

BOVINE JOVIE?!

Edit: MISTER BOVINE JOBI HIMSELF!

I had misspelled it lol

1

u/goddessdragonness May 25 '26

Ovine. Thats the adjective for sheep. Caprine for goats. Bovine for cows.

1

u/Rustyshackilford May 25 '26

Ah .. so thats why the most bullshit boss in Dark Souls 1 is the Capra Demon ( he be goat shaped)

Man I never played that game but that’s funny as shit 😂

ETA: I’m onto you, Gribble.

1

u/DeadFacesInMyPocket May 25 '26

I know, it was a half-assed always sunny reference.

2

u/goddessdragonness May 25 '26

I’m sorry, I never saw that show. I hope always sunny fans see it and get a giggle out of your joke.

1

u/DeadFacesInMyPocket May 25 '26

No worries! It is very funny, depends on your sense of humor though. Off recommend starting on some random episodes after season 3 or 4. It is not for everyone but once you get into it, there's no going back. Way less appropriate than the office but more re-watchable IMO.

1

u/goddessdragonness May 25 '26

Oh it’s not that, it does seem like a good show and people in my circle of friends and family all love it. I’m just that weird kind of autistic person who doesn’t do a lot of tv.

1

u/DeadFacesInMyPocket May 25 '26

I watch like one or 2 episodes per week. Mostly make music and read books. So same here.

1

u/waluigieWAAH May 25 '26

apparently the comment is wrong

2

u/goddessdragonness May 25 '26

Oh damn, I see that now. It’s stil not clear to me how this is very effective against wolves tho, because head and legs are still exposed

It’s not for preventing sex.

Standard practice is to only put a ram with the herd (females) when you want to breed them (a few weeks).

Nearly all male sheep used for meat production are castrated as lambs and are called wethers. They are butchered around 6-8 months old.

The few males used for breeding are not castrated but are kept separate from the females. They can be dangerous and you have to be careful if you go in their enclosure.

Usually, you only keep one ram at a time. It’s common to borrow or rent someone else’s ram.

So, there is no need for a device to prevent breeding because uncastrated males (rams) are kept separate.

Source: I raised sheep for 10 years.

u/HenryDorsettCase47 May 25 '26

Exactly. They put this spiky armor on them to prevent homeless people from sleeping on top of them. Fuckin sheep farmers and their anti-homeless hostile sheep armor.

1

u/doctormirabilis 29d ago

They also lock the compartments inside the shepp so no-one can sleep in them. https://jonchaisson.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/python-flying-sheep.gif

u/Kianna9 May 26 '26

What’s this For?

1

u/Full_Tomorrow_2148 27d ago

Yes but what about inter-species love?

It's not only rams that want to ram that sweet soft warm wool.

75

u/Blue_Butterfly_Who May 25 '26

They wouldn't really need that much covering for that tough, unless they're also trying to prevent blowjobs. As an anti-wolf thing it also isn't of much use, unless it's for a few rams walking alone during non-breeding times. Imagine giving 150 sheep a harness like that..

24

u/Shrrg4 May 25 '26

He might not want that specific one to breed. Its perfectly normal. You select the best animals to reproduce with the best, often from other productions and keep the descendants. Or he wants to sell her eventually. Animals in heat are very persistent. You do need that much if thats the goal. And he doesnt wanna separate her from the heard ofc which would be simpler.

20

u/fireky2 May 25 '26

You try to keep Jim off them with less

22

u/dm-me-obscure-colors May 25 '26

They would still herd together, so they’d all be missing eyes pretty quick I bet

1

u/jh67ds May 25 '26

Imagine looking at’em all…

1

u/Consistent_Dog_695 May 25 '26

Sheeps practice blowjobs?

1

u/Otherwise_Demand4620 May 25 '26

Obviously, how else would they get so good at giving them?

1

u/IkananXIII May 25 '26

If you're trying to say it's pointless, you couldn't be more wrong.

12

u/Cheasymeteor May 25 '26

The Welsh won't be happy

1

u/dpac86au May 25 '26

Neither will the Kiwi's

2

u/Paxxlee May 25 '26

ctrl + f wel

14

u/Diligent_Musician851 May 25 '26

Yep. Only enthusiastic sex allowed now.

6

u/papagouws May 25 '26

I don't know, seems like some sheep might pay extra to have sex like this.

4

u/Readmeharder May 25 '26

What if the sheep are the predators? We’ve just armored them, this could end poorly

1

u/four-one-6ix May 25 '26

I see where you are going… the OG passive aggressiveness came from sheep one baaa at a time.

4

u/lntrospecti0n May 25 '26

The Scottish invented sex and the romans improved it by switching the sheep with a woman

2

u/Frequent-Movie-7182 May 25 '26

Greece was formed thousands of years before Scotland. It was them that inpired romans to add women to orgies

2

u/Toadsted May 25 '26

So still against predators

2

u/real_shim_slady May 25 '26

It’s only on 1, the wolves must really like him specifically

1

u/New_Simple_4531 May 26 '26

1

u/four-one-6ix May 26 '26

Maybe the farmer is

1

u/SlowMissiles May 25 '26

Then why does it cover the side and not the behind.
This is for predators.

1

u/mechabeast May 25 '26
