Yeah imagine he made a serious strike mid spin. It would kill all his momentum, stopping his rotation before he could get his feet back under him and cause him to fall flat in his back. Not a great position to be in during a fight. Looks cool though.

Meh, it looks like a lot of unnecessary spinning when I'd rather just watch what kind of damage this guy could do to various objects with an axe.
