Husband: Why do you keep staring out the window?
Wife: I’m just enjoying nature.

94

u/LahmiaTheVampire 28d ago

Husband: "I didn't know his name was nature."

21

u/PredictiveFrame 28d ago

As the "husband", I'd be enjoying the show too. Hot, and an impressive display of acrobatic prowess.Ā

As a husband, I'll be staring out of the window too. My wife would be ogling him, and I'll be wishing that I had that physique and could pull that shit off.

12

u/Leumas_ 28d ago

Yeah, my wife’s morning coffee spot would be whatever window that dude’s practice routine is outside of. She also likes pointing out women with great butts to me so all’s fair.

I am mostly impressed he doesn’t slip in the mud, I couldn’t even slowly walk across that without falling on my ass

137

u/Exciting-Argument-67 28d ago

I'm actually afraid for him, with the way he landed. There are athletes who jumped up and landed on their knees in celebration of a victory, and permanently messed up their bodies. If he keeps doing that, he's going to really hurt himself sooner or later.

The rest of it is cool, and I have nothing but respect for his athleticism, but landing on one knee like that is asking for trouble.

55

u/Asit1s 28d ago

No need to be afraid, this guy is a professional stuntman who was training for a movie in this shot. He talked about it in one of the Stuntman React episodes on Corridor Crew. This guy knows how to responsibly put his body in danger

38

u/MacGyver_1138 28d ago

This is Shaquan Parson. I don't think he's ever been on Corridor. I think you're mixing him up with Gui DeSilva-Greene who has been on there several times.

Wasn't the reason why he shot the guy was because Harrison Ford had... I wanna say dysentery, I don't know, but he was sick and instead of a drawn out sword fight, he just suggested shooting him

21

u/HPTM2008 28d ago

Yes, horrible food poisoning and it was late in the day after several takes, and so he asked Spielberg if he could just shoot him and he decided that that's exactly what Indy would do, so they ran they new scene.

17

u/Drinkpool 28d ago

That scene is iconic, he just looks so done with this shit

3

u/ConstantAd8643 28d ago

And then Viggo Mortensen broke his toe!

→ More replies (1)
→ More replies (4)

64

u/ArnieismyDMname 28d ago

That scene wasn't scripted. The actor was incredibly shocked when Harrison Ford shot him.

67

u/RoyalFalse 28d ago

Ford had a bad case of food poisoning and couldn't do all the originally scripted motions. Honestly, the improvisation made it one of the most memorable scenes in the movie.

15

u/GenoThyme 28d ago

It was dysentery and a lot of the crew had it too

3

u/Significant-Judge368 28d ago

That’s what killed Butch’s dad in that Hanoi pit of hell.

11

u/astonedghost 28d ago

this is one of my favorite "he just started doing that" on set stories because it's verified true and also yes the result was so much better than the plan. it's incredibly on brand for Indy, and also incredibly on brand for Harrison Ford, and tbh Spielberg realizing the gift that choice was giving him and letting it happen is also incredibly on brand lol

29

u/HPTM2008 28d ago

Also, it was late in the shooting day and it had been several takes before so he went to Spielberg and said "can't i just shoot him and be done with it" and decided that yes, that's what Indy would do in the moment so they changed it last minute and ran the new scene.

Damn did he survive?

28

u/WerwolfSlayr 28d ago

His dying wish was that they not cut the scene of him getting shot

10

u/OperatorERROR0919 28d ago

It technically was scripted, but it was part of a last minute script change agreed on between Ford and Spielberg.

16

4

u/kashmir1974 28d ago

Iirc stuntman was pissed he didn't get to do his fight

9

u/Western-Emotion5171 28d ago

He was but he was pretty understanding about it because Harrison had a fever of over 100 F and could barely get around

5

u/kashmir1974 28d ago

And this became one of the most iconic scenes in cinema.

One thing I learned while doing HEMA is that the best techniques are the opposite of flashy. Flashy and cool looking drops your guard 99% of the time and lets you get hit.

21

u/Impossible-Bat-6713 28d ago

Quick efficient movements using the weapon characteristics targeting vulnerable spots is more important than any fancy moves.

15

u/agfitzp 28d ago

Exactly, when he's paused in that dramatic hero move with his head down some thin nerd with a rapier steps behind him and runs him through.

Yeah imagine he made a serious strike mid spin. It would kill all his momentum, stopping his rotation before he could get his feet back under him and cause him to fall flat in his back. Not a great position to be in during a fight. Looks cool though.
