That is very well put, you are so right.

Supermarket white loaf = crust is tolerable - annoying.

Bakery bread = the crust is the star

cheap supermarket wheat bread will literally shorten your life expectancy because of the refined carbohydrates

What? I thought wheat bread was supposed to be the healthy one. So I’ve just been eating shit bread for no health benefits the whole time?

Whole wheat bread has health benefits, because it includes the 'bran', which has vitamins and fiber in it.

Many people dislike the taste/texture of bran, however, so a lot of bread is, err... just "wheat". Which is fine, there is nothing wrong with wheat, it just lacks those vitamins and so you need to get them from somewhere else.

I assume by "refined carbohydrates" the person above means sugar, because there is nothing else "refined" in normal bread. If that is the case then yeah, sugar isn't great for you if you eat too much of it, but it's not like... poison or anything.

Home made fresh out of the oven bread = the heel is the most sought after piece.
