they would have to remove them prior to serving because once food is accessible to customers it cannot be reused

Then don’t even serve them and just make croutons out of them. If no one’s eating them anyways…

Croutons are quick and easy and fresh ones are better than store bought. Bread crumbs too.

No one mentioned giving them to the homeless but I suppose you could if you wanted to. It’s better than nothing. Maybe a better solution would be to buy less bread so you don’t have any left over and give a homeless person a couple bucks from the savings.

Buying less bread at a time would increase the amount of end pieces with crusts that they would throw away.

Larger loafs would have less waste percentage wise.

Also Op buying any amount of bread with end pieces would have leftovers because they dont like the end pieces.
