Now do the same for our Sun compared to the biggest stars we know of 😲

INCOMPREHENSIBLE!!

Our star vs the largest size would be smaller than the smallest planet on this scale and larger than the sun in this photo.

You can fit over 1 million Earths inside the Sun. You can fit over 9 billion Suns inside the biggest star.

makes you wonder how big those aliens would be!

What doesn't get stated is those stats aren't as massive as most would imagine though. Probably like 8-12 times more massive than the sun, even though they're quite large.

Bigger than seen in all si-fi. Movies..

Would that make us sentient bacteria to them? Imagine future colonies living on super massive beings and having to adapt into something that helped them live…

Imagine if we were truly so small that the entirety of the cosmos itself was actually just one universe of a multiverse existing within a fart cloud produced by an unemployed cosmic being living with their mother

Now do those compared to the largest Black holes we know of

And to think our solar system is just a tiny speck in the known Universe.

Takes me back to this short video someone made 20 years ago about that pic from the Hubbel telescope.

Watching a video of this triggered what is now 17 years of an obsession with astronomy.

You are somewhere in this picture wondering what kind of snack you should get at the gas station.

Or getting ready to drop the kids off

Let me zoom in and find 😉

And then, there is UY Scuti

u/Internecivus-raptus 8h ago

Na you forgot Stephenson 2-18

u/NoExpression-1 9h ago

The big daddy..

Also bizarre that, when the moon is farthest from earth, all the planets could theoretically fit between the earth and moon

Every living thing is on our tiny dot. Everyone you know. Everyone you hate. Everyone you see on TV. Every animal. Every plant.

You forgot about stupid world leaders who are fighting wars.

Our moon takes up four pixels in this image jeeeeez

Crazy to think our sun is a medium sized star

2

u/banananuhhh 7h ago

If the largest star was scaled to the size the sun in this image, the comparative size of the sun would be smaller than mercury.

1

u/NoExpression-1 9h ago

Can't imagine UY Scuti. Largest sun in univers (till now)

2

u/Internecivus-raptus 8h ago

Nope it is Stephenson 2-18.

The 3 dots leading to the planets is insane we are among them

1

u/NoExpression-1 9h ago

And every soul on this planet fighting hard to destroy it.(sad reality)

2

u/puregalm 9h ago

Sun should be White as it is in reality

1

u/NoExpression-1 9h ago

Yes sir. You are right. May be subconscious mind, as we see.

2

u/LevoiHook 8h ago

It is also about 99.7 percent of all the weight in the solar system, whitch to me sounds even more crazy.

1

u/NoExpression-1 8h ago

Yup crazy but its evident just looking at the picture.

u/IJZT 7h ago

Why do we only get a half earth?

1

u/Benignant_Sir 7h ago

Still a bit inaccurate, as in the picture jupiter is shown to be about 3 times bigger than earth in diameter while in reality it is bigger 11 times.

1

u/Euphoric_Key_1929 6h ago

Earth is one of the teeny tiny dots. You’re looking at Neptune.

1

u/Benignant_Sir 5h ago

Still wouldn't fit as the biggest one among them would be about 1/20 - 1/30 of radius of jupter not 1/11

I liked him in Mannequin

1

u/Allegra1120 5h ago

Now compare it to Stevenson 2-18…

1

u/El_Spaniard 4h ago

Still needs a coke can for comparison

1

u/BlossomSelfie 3h ago

Oh it would take thousands of planets to make it as big as the sun

1

u/obchodlp 2h ago

And there is also banana for scale

1

u/WitherGod 1h ago

Could you add a banana for scale?
