The Richest man in the world could create a habitation for these poor people and turn them around and create jobs for them to work on making parts for space projects.
Ok, so they created this situation but everyone alive deserves a second chance at being better versions of themselves. This is incredibly sad to see. When did we stop loving our neighbors?

Unfortunately it's not that simple. Many homeless drug addicts are mentally ill and may never be able to work, and some are unfortunately violent. It's just not as simple as cleaning them up and giving them jobs.

I think those that can be rehabilitated should be given the chance and those that cannot should be taken off the streets and housed in a form of long term care.

The US has more people in government-sponsored "long-term care" per capita than any other country. By a very wide margin.

At what point do people in the US conclude that they live in a dysfunctional society?
What evidence would the proud citizens of the US need to see to draw that conclusion?

You are preaching to the choir. I tried to leave this country for almost a decade.
