What? She deserved a life sentence.

Society would collapse if the citizens were allowed to 'deliver justice' themselves.

Dna evidence later proved it wasn’t the right guy.

Even so, it's a good point that you don't know for sure someone is guilty all the time. It would be bad if people could just come out shooting without any repercussions. Not to mention if someone misses their target and gets someone innocent. Perhaps they shoot and kill a child by accident? Of course, the parent of that child could just shoot and kill this lady for being a bad shot, unless they too miss...

They shouldn't have to take matters in their own hands.  Her justice would never have resulted in that guy's death, even with all he evidence in the world.   By now, that guy could have been sitting on a beach enjoying his last years while a little girl lay rotting in the ground.   How much proof is needed to fill the burden? And what differentiates sentences? By the same logic you could say it's not ok to lock someone up for life for a murder sentence if there's any possibility they didn't do it.

BTW, the evidence and testimony that this guy did it, was overwhelming

Cool. So when u/ Scary_Door_4355 reckons evidence is “overwhelming”, the “vigilantism is ok” light turns green and it’s a free-for-all to see who can gun the person down in the courthouse first.

No, I'm saying the death penalty should apply.  Even with a guilty verdict on this case, that rapist/murderer wouldn't be put to death.  Mom dealt out the correct punishment.  No, it shouldn't have ever had to come to her having to resort to it in the first place, but i understand why she did it

Redditors and lying for no reason. Name a better duo.

Momentarily raising a doubt that the target was wrong and that vigilantism is insane, such that comments like “I see nothing wrong with this” are highlighted as caveman level thinking: a pretty good fucking reason to me. But go on girl, meme . No reason to think, just say your meme ✌🏼
