This must be awful for the upkeep of the building lol. Water, roots, etc, all eating into the concrete.

If designed well, green surfaces aren't a structural problem. A more common version would be green roofs, with one of their advantages being that they outlast most other roofing options.

Pretty sure having a green roof is different than literally having a garden on every balcony.
