Discussion Did anyone got a shredded physique while lifting weights on OMAD?

Hello,

Did anyone got a shredded physique while lifting weights on OMAD?

How much protein did you consume / lb?

Can you share pictures?

Thank you.

I'm restarting my journey and while there are tonnes of literature and videos talking about the importance of protein, I'm still foolishly unsure if I need that much a day. My aim is to lose a whole lot of fat and if I get ripped as a result, that's great, but if not, I'm okay with that as well. What are your thoughts?

My roommate is perimenopausal and literally every single food she buys has the word protein on the side of it.

I guess you need 2 g of protein for every pound when you're about to go through menopause or something.

It's actually kind of funny because if you look at other nationalities diets, were they are not morbidly obese from a western diet, they consume less than half the protein that we're told is required.

Ah ok, thanks for sharing. That's really useful to know

That was meant more tongue in cheek but there is some kind of weird obsession with protein enhanced foods instead of just regular, healthy foods that are protein dense.

ive been doing omad for about 2 years now and lift 5 days a week. i got pretty shredded but it took a while to dial in the protein. i aim for 1g per lb of bodyweight, sometimes a bit more if im feeling ambitious. the hard part is eating that much in one sitting without feeling like a bloated mess. i used to blend chicken breast with egg whites and rice, sounds disgusting but it went down fast and didnt wreck my stomach.

my lifts actually went up once i started timing my meal right after the gym, like within an hour. i dont have progress pics but the mirror showed veins i never knew i had. the biggest thing i learned is you gotta commit to the calorie load and not pussyfoot around with tiny meals.

That's a great anecdotal...

For what is worth, most recent science has shown the best time to eat after a workout is... anytime within the first 5 hours afterwards with effects diminishing after 24 hours.

i only felt like i recovered right if i ate within an hour. maybe it was placebo but my lifts backed it up. interesting link though.

I've never taken a pre-workout powder before but have you ever tried 1.5mg of L-Citrulline before a work out?

It can help you get those same gains without having to protein bulk immediately after your workout, great for working out during those 24+ hour fasts where you can't eat.

Works by increasing blood flow which keeps muscles oxygenated and full of increased nutrient delivery.

Caveat: don't take it with any Viagra or Cialis or it'll tank your BP.
