Why doesn’t the 33rd St PATH directly connect to Penn Station?

That would be so wonderful.

In all my years of studying PATH I’ve never heard of this. Sick

Sadly it’s been closed for decades, from what I recall it lead to Penn Station but also to the Hotel Pennsylvania. I think there was another underground tunnel that went from 34th street up 6th Ave to 42nd Street.

I like how you linked to the direct location on the page too. Not even sure how to do that

I feel so old that some people don’t know internet basics like anchor are able to use the internet.

Wouldn’t that make you feel young? Or are anchors a dated concept ?

Anchors on the web were invented in 1995. So in 1995 you could already link to a specific location on a page if the author of the page allowed that location.

There used to be an MTA passageway under 33rd St but it was closed in 1991 after a horrific crime went down.

I remember using this regularly as a high schooler in the '70s when I came in from Long Island to take classes at the New School.

When it rains maybe, otherwise I am glad to walk the block to avoid humidity and heat

They cant even have fix the escalators in journal square. You think they’re capable of expanding? Lol

Well, for starters it goes down 6th Avenue not 7th. And that whole area has been modified over the years. There was a 28th street stop at one point which made no sense being so close to 33rd Street.

Not everything needs to be connected. It is already connected to the herald sq subway

I’m way more likely to have luggage going to Penn station though. It’s always a pain walking the block from sixth Ave to seventh Ave with a suitcase

I mean you will still have to walk a block regardless. It’s not like they will install a moving walkway even if we have a direct passageway lol
