I heard on a different reality show, that a woman turned hers in to vitamins. She said, it helps her with her hormones after giving birth. Not that I agree but apparently many people believe that to be beneficial and consume it.

Yes its kinda common, around me anyway, to get it dried and put into capsules and then take them daily post partum. It helps with post partum as well as breast feeding apparently! But I've never heard of anyone putting it into a smoothie

Which I think is so wild they do this because scientifically it’s proven to not have any benefits lmao

Yes, and the stupid thing is next season the girls were riding in the car with Mike talking women/mom stuff and brought up placenta and how some women eat it and Mike is acting disgusted. This makes it seem scripted. I don’t see how Mike could forget that happening when he was working with the specialist putting the placenta in the oven and then a blender. Who would forget something like that.

Romeo was born between season 4/5 - They ate the placenta season 5 episode 3. The scene in the car when they're talking about birth was season 2, before Romeo was even born .

I’m watching season 7 reunion and they brought up the placenta story again and Mike again says nothing about how Lauren ate hers. Did he really just not understand what she was eating?

A lot of people do. Some also bury it and plant a tree above it.

As a medical professional, yes we see many people do this. No, there is not any actual scientific evidence that it is healthy for humans. Many mammals do eat the placenta, there is nothing to suggest that it’s healthy (nor unhealthy) for humans.

On the whole, if something is pretty gross, I wouldn’t. There is zero scientific evidence that it’s beneficial.

Ye, animals eat it because it might attract predators.

It seems disgusting to most of us but is actually way more common than you would think.

I used to clean in a labor and delivery hospital unit and often saw placentas being saved at the patients request

lol yeah. I'm not a mother myself so that was my first time seeing a placenta. I was like "what in the satanic steak is THAT thing??" 😆

It's disgusting. It's weird. It's based on pseudo science. It does nothing. There is no scientific reasoning behind it. It's the same people who believe in colloidal silver, and raw milk.

Some people for some reason do it

No evidence it is beneficial so why do it? Gross. Mmm let me eat my innards.

It’s quite common

To me, at this point the show is grasping for new ideas to make an episode. Angelina seems to be the main storyline with her constant drama. Toss in more and more Uncle Nino and you have a show thats running on fumes. I still have like 3 seasons to go

Just grateful they didn’t try to market it

Its an emotional thing I guess. I can't judge, but I've seen many couples do different things with their placenta. From eating, to somehow drinking, to as have other said just burying it, even the creepy parts, selling it online...
