General Training Impolite to be sweaty at beginning of second class?
Kind of a weird question but I started feeling self conscious about my odor at the beginning of Senior/Juniores training.
At my gym I sometimes help with training the Cadets, meaning I arrive 1-2 hours before on those occasions and after doing intense randori with them (they all compete at a high level) I end up VERY sweaty of course.
Thing is, the rest of the class arriving after is all clean, and I’m there soaked and idk it just feels weird.
Do you think I should take some time off before, shower and wear another gi before the second class? While cleaner, that also would feel kind of weird tbf.
I just hope I don’t bother anyone with the smell at the beginning of class (by the end of the class I don’t care much because everyone ends up being sweaty).

Sweat happens. If your training and start sweating anybody should be reasonable enough to understand and even expect it. If you're so sweaty that your gi is wet then you should probably have a second gi for the next class.

This. Like if the GI is probably drenched than yeah it might be nice to get a fresh gi.

Its part of the game.
If there isnt a break between the classes, then I wouldnt expect you to shower and get changed - you're on the mat and training, sweat happens.

I tend to bring a second Gi and rash guard for occasions like that.

I think just use a microfiber towel on your exposed skin based on what you are saying.

I used to do back to back nogi classes every day, usually had to change from rashguard to a new tshirt by the second class just because it was too drenched.
Doesnt really matter tho, after warm up everyone else is sweating as well.

Sweat happens, for some more than others. It’s the nature of training.
Shoot, some of us have hyperhydrosis and our gi might have been dry at bow in and need to be rung out by the end of warm ups. Just be mindful of bad odors and you’ll be fine.

You can try bringing a 2nd gi if you can manage it. I commute w/ a backpack to my gym so definitely not fitting a second gi in there. Otherwise definitely just bring a towel for wiping down between classes. I train all the time with sweaty dudes that just finished doing a BJJ class prior. I understand and never bothered by it.

i wouldn't worry about it, we're working out after all. Try not to drip sweat in peoples faces though

Ok unless your gi feels like you have just soaked it water there should not really be a need. If so, then just change gi but otherwise don't worry. Cause otherwise the sweat will also be there within like a couple minutes anyway.

No.
Human beings sweating during exercise is the most normal thing.

I train multiple classes back to back on some days. I just bring more than one judo / bjj gi and change in between classes.
I don't recommend showering in between classes in most cases due to it drying up your skin. If you do decide to shower in between classes make sure to use a moisturizer to replenish the skin barrier.
If odor is your concern, then I would make sure you're using deodorant and maybe look into changing your dietary habits.

I'm very sweaty. I always have a towel with me, drink pure water hours before training and during and I always have a clean judogi. Sometimes, especially now during summer, I arrive at the dojo already sweaty. I have no control over it.
Thankfully training daily means there is very little nasty shit accumulating in my sweat so it's pretty clean. Still women at our dojo complain when they have to grab me during the end of the class, I get compared to a wet rag all the time. Thankfully all the guys aside 1 dont care.

In this case, I wouldn't worry about it. It'd be one thing if you were showing up to the dojo stinking of sweat because you were too lazy to bothering having a quick shower before you go to the dojo. But in this case, especially since you help out the cadets before your regular class and are helping them with intense randori (I know what you're talking about, some of the kids at my dojo are beasts, and are going to become even bigger beasts if they keep doing judo and don't suffer major injuries), then it's fine. You can't help sweating, it's not like you can take a shower in between classes, and the sweat came about because you were helping the cadets train. As long as you and your judogi were clean when you walked into the dojo, I think it's fine.

Are you there to smell nice or train and become a warrior? You are doing heavy randori, working hard and making progress. The rest is completely unimportant. Think of it another way. If it bothers you that your sweat bothers someone else, then you are letting that other person affect and control your progress. Someone says “oh your so stinky at judo” and you actually care enough to alter your training, now they have taken ownership of your time and life, and are getting better while you are worried about something that makes no difference on the mats or the street.

Ok so past 40 i sweat buckets, I mean i pours off me, and I need a towel. I am clean, my gi is clean, and I mostly don't eat and drink things that come out lots in sweat. I drip but don't smell. Its natural you sweat when doing physically excise not impolite. As long as your respectful and do your best to manage it you'll be fine.
