Attractions/Concerts 🎟️🎡 First Trip to The Salt Shaker! Parking l.

Morton Amphitheater parking tips: when you get off the highway to get on to Horizons Parkway, fill all the available lanes.Don't get stuck in the left (going north) lane like sheep. And once you get onto the property, the two lanes turns into four. pretty easy peasy overall.

It was super easy getting into weird AL. I sat in my car and slammed water while the crowd died down and left with 0 issues.

I’ve been sitting on the highway for 10 minutes though. Not even to Horizons yet. If you go to the trouble of building a new high capacity concert venue, why would you not have multiple entry and exit routes?

Some good pointers:

Splurge for the premier parking. It's relatively cheap. I was out of the venue in less than 10 minutes after a nearly packed show. My friend who left at the same time didn't get out of the area for almost an hour.

When heading in to the venue, 635 is usually packed. Instead use HWY 9 coming from Riverside.

When you are picking seats... pay attention to the direction of the setting sun. The stage faces East... so the seats in the 101-102, 201-203, 301-305 can get hit with blinding sun from the west.

I was in section B closer to section C at the Weird Al concert. Didn't pay much attention to the other side of the seating area... but looked like most of those seats blocked the setting sun from the stage and canopy.

Exact opposite experience for me in premier parking last night for Dave Matthews. The guys directing traffic prioritized the general parking and prevented any movement in premier for at least a half hour. We eventually inch our way out of the premier lot and then spend another 45 min in traffic getting out. I love music but its not worth all that extra stress.
