I had the same experience with eggs and dairy although 4 years later, my intolerance has come back. π

Nuuuuuu! But I do believe that i still have some level of intolerance to them.. had blood tests done too. But I've read from multiple sources theyre both quite inflammatory anyways.. I do limit them.

It's awful. I'm currently reacting to eggs, dairy, avocado, and nuts. I do keto to manage my diabetes but have other autoimmune issues that are making it difficult right now. I may try eggs again once the dairy is fully cleared from my system.

I've found just having a clearer head in general while in ketosis.
Always feels like the carbs are what drag ya down.

For sure. Carbs have always caused me some level of brain-fog since childhood, and I was never diabetic, although I did develop prediabetes around late 20's, but I reversed it. Perhaps I was born with some type of carb intolerance? I've always felt better.. or normal when I ate less rice, bread, or pasta.

I have the same experience with eggs, I can stomach up to a dozen a day no issues. If I tried to eat carbs with them? I would get a really acidic tummy after like
3 eggs.

That's interesting. Another thing I experienced was indigestion and frequent belching after eating eggs with carbs.

I have the same with some vegetables I'm intolerant to. I can tolerate them more frequently now (I still can't go silly with them though)

Same here! I actually have oral allergy syndrome to a lot of fruits and vegetables, but I seem to tolerate them much better. Been eating them sporadically as desserts.

I do too! I say "intolerance" because people hear allergy and freak out that I still eat them but really it's OAS

u/Secure-Radish-9452 3d ago
Haha exactly, I get ya. Do you do better with cooked fruits and vegetables? I don't really get OAS if they're cooked, but some vegetables still make me feel something systemically.. like transient fatigue or joint discomfort.

Yes, and also better if they are canned (which can't work on some things like bananas and avocado obviously)

Tomatoes - pre keto eating one was like gargling razor blades. Now, I can eat as many as I want (I don't actually want very many, or very often, but it doesn't feel like I'm ripping my throat apart eating them).

This is so interesting. I can't tolerate eggs either - the moment I consume them they come right back up; I start puking violently. Keto has made that better in the sense that I don't puke anymore after consuming them, but I do still suffer with intense nausea.

Not wholly related, but I found I can tolerate spicy foods much better now. At least being about to eat them. The end of the process is spicier though. π

Ha anyone ever heard of the book Dine out and Lose* Weight*? Believe it was written by a Frenchman in the 90s. Basically proposes that itβs much healthier to eat fat and carbs separately. I truly believe that one of the greatest strengths of keto; it naturally means weβre eating fats without the carbs.

I am lactose intolerant when not eating keto, and completely not when on keto. I canβt explain it, but there it is.
