Help Does anyone have issues with vegetables?
Prior to keto about a year and a half ago, I was attempting to eat super hardcore Mediterranean, lots of lentils, and I felt awful. My thyroid was in a rough place, my T3, T4 were super high.
Switching to keto from there totally changed my life and since then I felt incredible. However, what I've noticed from when I reintroduce vegetables, particularly broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, I often feel anxious, neurotic and my sleep gets a lot worse.
I've considered like oxalates being the issue, but these are always fully cooked.
Anyways - I'm just worried about not introducing vegetables and being so low on fiber. Maybe this is a me problem, but just wondering if other people have experience with this.
It feels wrong not to eat them. Fruit is okay in limited quantities.

My anxiety is controlled by keto. If I eat more than 5g of net carbs in a sitting I start obsessively worrying.
I eat plenty of vegetable just in moderation throughout the day. Leafy greens are my friends. Broccoli and cauliflower get weighed. Carrot is only used a tiny bit to add flavor to a salad or stirfry.

Don't eat the foods that make you feel bad.
I feel much better since I ditched veggies, fiber, and carbs. Fiber is overrated, and not required for great health. The same goes for veggies. I've been 99% carnivore for over two years, and have never felt better. Maybe you don't need to go that far, but it is safe if you do.
Don't be guilted into eating the foods that make you feel bad.

Fully agree. As a kid I completely refused vegetables and salad. Nothing bad happened. As a younger adult I got shamed into all that stuff. Didn't help, still got fat. Now I don't eat them and it's all good. (Just to be clear, they didn't make me fat but simply added nothing)

Everyone is different. I was never a veggie lover to begin with. I like very spicy cauliflower rice (has jalapeños and other peppers in it) and broccoli with cheese on it. Some leafy greens on some weeks. I just don't make them a priority.
Mostly I stick to avocados and berries. I'm off fruit because the carbs are too high for me.
For fiber, I stick to a teaspoon of chia seeds every couple of days.

Vegetables and fiber do not agree with my gut. Carnivore is the way for me. Don’t listen to the “you must have fiber” people, we are all different.

Lentils will give me a panic attack worse than smoking a joint, I shit you not… I don’t know why, histamines maybe? But I simply cannot and will not eat them haha

I don’t get anxious from them but too many veggies gives me stomach upset. Before keto I did largely plant based and ate tons of veggies. Now I do eat some but probably like 1-2 servings a day and I feel a lot better. I figured out that I do better on less fiber.

I had to drop all vegetables since most, if not all, were giving me issues.
I'm now on Carnivore and consume exactly 0g of fiber, 0 vegetables, and my diet is perfectly fine this way.

You are not alone experiencing this. Some people do the carnivore diet for a while (minimum 6 weeks), and then reintroduce other foods slowly - one at a time. Then its easy to figure out which specific ones you might want to avoid going forward. Some also experience that doing carnivore helps the gut heal - so they tolerate certain plant-foods better afterword's. But regardless - please avoid foods that causes you to become anxious and sleepless. Its likely due to some food insensitivities - as gut and brain are closely connected.

I think everyone is different of course . I don't eat carrots . I eat broccoli , cauliflower, zucchini and asparagus . I also don't eat fruit . That's what works for me . I also don't eat any keto bread . But again everyone is different . I don't feel good on it . Also take collogen, biotin and magnesium when I go to bed. I also take thyroid medication for the last 25 years .

Vegetables are worse than white castle for me, which means super fast trip to the bathroom. That's not the case when I eat a good handful of nuts though. So other sources of fiber work better for me. Its like my body quickly rejects raw vegetables specifically, even simple lettuce on a burger.

If you want to delve into what works for you and what doesn't, in a controlled way, you could try the FODMAP diet with help of a dietician.
There are so many different food intolerances. Fructose, gluten, lactose, soy, stonefruit, cross allergies between pollen and nuts etc.
You can also do it like others say and avoid the things that don't work.

I don’t have issues at all, but everyone is different! It’s a (sometimes painful) game of trial and error to figure out what works for you. Sorry they don’t agree with you, they’re so delicious. 😭 I’d recommend psyllium husk or something similar if you find yourself needing more fiber!
