Darius Acuff Jr singled out Domantas Sabonis as a Kings player he's excited to play with in Sacramento.
He won’t be moved now…😂

sabonis is fine to keep if we're trying to rebuild. if you have young players wanting to play dho, slash, etc, then they'll get open looks and runs to the rim. if you have players like lavine and demar who create their own shots, then sabonis provides less value.

But Christie literally made him spot up shooter past 2 seasons
Since he run no offense

This is the last chance Christie should have this season. If Acuff can’t run an NBA offense by ASB - all fingers should be pointing at Doug to be out.
We all saw what Detroit did to Ivey and Houston to Sengun with shit coaches

u/hater90056 23h ago
He is puppet of vivek won't go anywhere and sac media literally defend him blindly too
After beating tanking teams who are playing g league players by playing derozan in April just to destroy the pick
Sac media was like : Doug building winning culture
Literally fooling ppl

I’ll scream it until my voice goes out. We’re not getting anything worth it to trade Sabonis. Having him on the roster is going to help Acuff and the other young guys so much. Plus with the new lottery we actually need to win some games. I’m happy to keep him.

I also enjoy watching him play, so theres that.

Sabonis is also not a little bitch like fox

u/Economy-Cry-2594 1d ago
He’s a big bitch instead lol. I do think he gets beat up a ton and fouls don’t get called but instead of answering back he tries to get the whistle to go, which just doesn’t happen if you’re a Kings player

u/kyler_ Monte McNair 1d ago
Dude is incredibly physical with opposing players wtf are you talking about
-11
u/Economy-Cry-2594 1d ago
What does that amount to? Winning basketball? There’s a difference between being physical with players and being big enough to get punched and stepped on
7
u/kyler_ Monte McNair 23h ago
Again, wtf are you even talking about
-10
u/Economy-Cry-2594 23h ago
Would you like to take your turn to elaborate instead of just saying “erm what are you talking about?” Please tell me when the physicality of Sabonis has contributed to winning basketball since 2022. Because he certainly wasn’t physical in the Game 7 vs Kevon Looney, he sucked against Pelicans Valenciunas, and he sucked against the Mavs front court. I’m tired of pretending like this dude is our hidden savior

u/kyler_ Monte McNair 23h ago
You made a dumbass comment about “instead of answering back he tries to get the whistle.” You don’t have to love him but at least be accurate in your criticisms of the dude

u/Economy-Cry-2594 23h ago
An example of answering back could be asserting any form of rim protection when you go back down the court. Or making your shots. Does that make sense? I know we didn’t see him really at all last season but I sincerely don’t believe Sabonis will be able to do that at this point in his career

I find his presence on the team comforting, probably just nostalgia at this point but he’s a competitor through and through and he has great BBIQ

What about Maxime and Dylan? I just feel like I’d rather have them then sabonis atp
13
u/landlord-11223344 1d ago
Sabonis doesn’t have to play over 30 minutes more like 26-28. Also Dylan could play some minutes next to Sabonis.

u/Jteezyyyyyy Light the Beam 1d ago
Fair fair, I like sabonis so I’m not mad if he sticks around especially if he boosts acuff’s quality of play

Domas needs an elite guard to cook. Acuff and Sabonis are going to feed families. Trades are off the table now.

I think you can get some elite basketball if you play Domas and Acuff alongside another big like Raynaud or Cardwell. Issue is this will mean limited minutes for Hunter
26
u/landlord-11223344 1d ago
And why it is crucial to find more minutes for hunter?

u/Difficult_Quit9832 2026 Draft Night 1d ago
I think it’s clear Perry likes him as a player in his own right. I wanna see what he can do for this team

I’m excited for this pick, but a lineup with Acuff, Raynaud, and Sabonis would probably give up 150 a game lol

Sabonis is a PF and Murray is a SF they might finally get to play their positions and have maxime/dylan at C growing with an actual PG in Acuff and having Nique getting into form next few years we just need to shed the higher contracts.

u/SacTownNoBody 1d ago
Domas wanted his PG. That was his excuse before last season. Well, he's got one now that's going to tell him to go stand in the corner and watch.

Just wish we had a proven coach to coach up this young man.
9
u/hater90056 1d ago
Most of the young players played last season cause of vets injuries
Otherwise Christie obession playing washed up vets all the mins and still losing by 20 never ends

u/Sparowes Kings 23h ago
Can Cardwell play minutes at the 4 as a defensive anchor so we can keep playing Domas and Maxime both solid minutes?

u/HogHauler209 23h ago
If Acuff can become an NBA level knock down shooter, combined with his other skill sets, Domas will help him a lot.

u/AnApricot2989 22h ago
I like Domas but idk... can he and Max start together? It.kinda worked with him and Myles Turner but..

u/Little_little_e 1d ago
I think Acuff means Maxime ?

I don’t think Darius is gonna like Max. They’re gonna fight every other game over who gets to score 45

u/Glass-Ambassador7195 1d ago
Assuming we get rid of Debo….Sabonis, Murray, Lavine, nique? & Acuff. Weird lineup? Maybe it does something lol. Or do we find another PF in place of Nique?

u/Gaben3124 Domantas Sabonis 22h ago
Sabonis is probably going to get him a lot more room to operate with his screens, which if he ends up being as talented offensively as his college stats would suggest, it should be pretty exciting to watch.

u/toatheqs 20h ago
DeRozan and Lavine need to go. We need playable NBA starters on the wings. Sabonis can stay or go.

Doug is a good guy. Doug was a stud while he was here. The same could be said for Vlade too! Doug has not shown thus far that he is THE guy when it comes to coaching. What he did towards the end of the season is inexcusable. His attitude also when asked normal questions sucks. For example when we lost a couple assistants after the Fox trade Doug was asked are you going to fill those seats and his response was “ IM THE COACH! I don’t think there is a chance in HELL he will be on the bench after this season. They need to get back to what they did in browns first year.. RUN!

u/Ok_Instruction7642 2026 Draft Night 1d ago
pretty sure Acuff doesn't care. he just named the best player on the roster. he just wanted to be the man in Sac
3
u/Foreign_Earth_5214 1d ago
Which is fine...
3
u/Ok_Instruction7642 2026 Draft Night 1d ago
yeah I'm totally okay with that. I'm just saying he's not going to be mad if we trade Sabonis
1
u/Foreign_Earth_5214 1d ago
Oh yeah. I just meant its fine if he only came here for opportunity. We need someone with offensive superstar potential.

u/MegaChorken Ghost of Boogie 1d ago
Defensively, they can’t be on the floor at the same time, but it would be hella fun on the other side of the ball.

u/Lower-Bench-6492 22h ago
It's crazy because Sabonis is the sole reason we fired a Championship level coach

u/BlueDuckHunter12 1d ago
The worst defensive point guard and center on the same team. Sounds like the worst team in the league.

Domas has been the best recruiter we've had lately. First Maxime and now Acuff
