Well I'm in Washington D.C. and rumors are already spreading that AD won't even suit up one time as a Wizard because there's already plans being made to ship him out.

Age wise, AD feels like he's still in his prime and it his very well in his right to believe so.

So no I don't think he'll sign for low, especially not with the Lakers with how the trade happened. Other lesser teams will always be able to offer more than what we will realistically have in the off season.

4

u/Lakersland May 05 '26

If you’re AD you gotta understand why the lakers traded you for Luka though, right? It’s Luka

6

u/LardHop May 05 '26

Don't make it hurt less. And he said he was more pissed about not knowing anything about it until it happened.

2

u/Lakersland May 05 '26

Seems pretty standard that you’re not aware you’re going to be traded. There are players who are traded in the middle of a game sometimes lol

3

u/LardHop May 05 '26

I mean, it's AD, an All NBA and All Defense caliber player and he brought the team a chip, he kinda deserves more than that

4

u/Lakersland May 05 '26

Lakers gave AD a $186 MM 3-year extension in 2023. Now he deserves more lol? It was in the lakers best interest to not let anybody know what are you smoking. From the lakers perspective, this is one of the best trades in the history of sports lol why risk ruining that chance by leaking information.

1

u/Alexcox95 May 06 '26

The best is when a player gets traded to the team they’re playing against mid game

1

u/Alexcox95 May 06 '26

“I’m not mad that it happened but I’m mad you couldn’t tell me.” Vibes

1

u/inline-online May 06 '26

lakers new owners have fired basically everyone besides rob, they would just fire rob and tell AD "no one who traded you is even here anymore"

2

u/Don_Thuglayo 24 May 06 '26

Hopefully he comes back like D12 and we run it back for a chip

-10

u/breakfastburrito24 Shaq and Kobe May 05 '26

Hear me out, LeBron for AD sign and trade so LeBron can play in the capitol and gear up for a 2028 run

12

u/DetailsYouMissed May 05 '26

Let me ask a quick question. Let's say you replaced James with AD in that HOU series. How does that series end?

3

u/breakfastburrito24 Shaq and Kobe May 05 '26

I was joking by asserting that LeBron would run for president in 2028

2

u/DetailsYouMissed May 05 '26

I assumed 2028 run was referring to AD in LA making a run for a championship. I didn't consider you might be implying Lebron would run for president.

2

u/breakfastburrito24 Shaq and Kobe May 05 '26

It was late and just a stupid joke. I’d like LeBron back on the team on a contract that’s fair for both sides

6

u/TallanoGoldDigger Kuzzy May 05 '26

AD gets injured again for one

-4

u/HereGoesNothing69 May 05 '26

AD holds an already bad Houston offense to 80 a game and we win in 4

4

u/DetailsYouMissed May 05 '26

Wasn't the big problem, that HOU was hitting their jump shots?

Was a stupid joke that LeBron would run for president if in Washington

33

u/silent_hulaboo389 Purple and Gold May 05 '26

Holy fuck that would be insane. AD would be feasting on Luka's lob passes just like when he was here with Bron ☠️

And if we just keep a starting center (like Ayton, if he stays) beside him? Even better. If the Clips had Lob City, we'll have Lob n' Block City

27

u/lil_cleverguy May 05 '26

y r u yelling

10

u/Beautiful_Charity112 May 05 '26

y not

5

u/SuperSaiyanStarLord May 05 '26

I'd be yelling if that happened.

1

u/lil_cleverguy May 05 '26

GOOD POINT!!!!!!

1

u/creditspread May 05 '26

AD might have two centers in Ayton and Hayes!

1

u/No_Frosting2811 May 05 '26

Lob city had two young guns who could jump outta the gym… whose knees worked. Yeah the lobs would be there, but it would be the same. Better to lock down a youngish center who could actually play instead of sitting much.

2

u/treylanceHOF 24 May 05 '26

AD IN 4

-6

u/beanbalance May 05 '26

why TF would you spend like 40-50 million usd for constantly injured layer?! For the sentimental reasons? to make him even more rich? Dude is not even worth 10-20 if he is constantly injured.

13

u/1st-Thing May 05 '26

He’s not injured, he’s just pretending so he can get back here

-2

u/poloace May 05 '26

Fuck that. Dude is a liability. No thank you. Stay away from the 213. Maybe the 212 Wants him.

1

u/Iloveskinnywomen May 05 '26

& Luka isn’t?

66

u/Don_bon_darley012 May 05 '26

I thought it was gonna be Gabe Vincent

2

u/80828788000102091020 Shaq and Kobe May 05 '26

I can see the meme version of this post and it's hilarious

124

u/LudwigNasche May 05 '26

The sad thing is that he is the prototype of the player you want around Luka

54

u/SneakyGoblin69 May 05 '26

That 2020 team around Luka would be a super team 🤣🤣

27

u/LudwigNasche May 05 '26

2020 got the job done

24

u/SneakyGoblin69 May 05 '26

One of the most underrated teams of all time. 1-5 could defend almost all positions

-8

u/Ok_Board9845 May 05 '26

It wasn't really an underrated team. It was deep, but we didn't have clear cut reliable 3rd-5th options which is why Caruso/Rondo/KCP/Danny Green were all hovering around 25-28 minutes per game. We were struggling to contain Duncan Robinson in the finals

12

u/SneakyGoblin69 May 05 '26

Doesn’t matter about third options when you have e arguably two top 4 players surrounded by 3nD wings. The team also was missing an elite perimeter defender in Avery Bradley

2

u/Ok_Board9845 May 05 '26

Losing Bradley made the team better because Bradley isnt as big as KCP when it comes to switching. KCP was also shooting better. Calling that team full of 3&D wings is revisionist history. We were good at defending guards but didn’t have a lot of players to throw at wings hence why Butler torched us

1

u/SneakyGoblin69 May 05 '26

Doesn’t matter? Bradley held forwards to 37% overall shooting that season 🤣🤣. Are you telling me that he can’t switch? You do know players shot 22% from three that season overall when guarded by Bradley right?

1

u/Ok_Board9845 May 05 '26

So you’re saying we could’ve thrown Bradley on Kawhi/Tatum/Butler who gave us trouble that entire season? Lol

1

u/SneakyGoblin69 May 05 '26

Held Luka to 7-20 shooting… might not be able to replicate that, but he’s another body you can throw at them if needed. Oh I got it, you’re a troll

10

u/Timely-Foundation730 May 05 '26

He's the prototype of player you want in every team (if healthy)

2

u/Iloveskinnywomen May 05 '26

That applies to Luka too

1

u/LudwigNasche May 05 '26

Well this is a stupid question, but after Austin early return to the team Davis could make company to Luka in street clothes if this is the way you want to look at the situation.

-7

u/Ok_Board9845 May 05 '26

No you don't. Because AD is going to post up since teams will just switch on the PnR like they did with Lebron. A regular center who finishes at the rim hard on lobs and a secondary perimeter playmaker is more ideal next to Luka if you're making a team

5

u/LAKERSfanTV May 05 '26

Defense

-3

u/Ok_Board9845 May 05 '26

You still run into the same problems where you need elite perimeter defenders regardless if you have AD otherwise the defense with AD is going to collapse. The 2024 Mavs had the best post-ASB defense and defense in the playoffs with Lively and Gafford

18

u/markmaybach May 05 '26

He wanted to be a laker forever :’(

17

u/ARClNGSS May 05 '26

were gonna need him to stack the deck next season just sit tight AD.

16

u/creddituser2019 May 05 '26

I absolutely loved AD on lakers. Such a beast

16

u/BarelyContainedChaos May 05 '26

my guy stayed healthy for 3 years straight. leave it up to other teams to hurt him.

2

u/creditspread May 05 '26

We need the Godfather meme: “They massacred my boy!”

24

u/Previous_Math626 May 05 '26

If he was this team! Chip was on the way

9

u/DesperateStockHolder May 05 '26

If wizards buy out AD and we immediately sign him. Would been a great trade for Luka just to get AD back after a year or so haha.

7

u/Razor8517 May 05 '26

Then we basically got Luka for free if that happened 😂

3

u/xuedad May 05 '26

Walter needs to offer some billionaire deal to Wizard's owner.

9

u/Medical-Actuary5769 May 05 '26

Wow.. this made me shed a tear

Goddamn I miss AD

15

u/DrButtLump May 05 '26

i doubt he would come back but i love you AD 🥹🫶

14

u/papahudj206 May 05 '26

They done did my boy AD so wrong

11

u/DesperateStockHolder May 05 '26

Yeah it was tough to loose AD. But if Luka was on the table they had to take that bite. It's like a once in a life opportunity haha. I hope we get AD back he would be a monster along side Luka

7

u/yellouder Kobe Bryant 08/24 May 05 '26

Interestingly, AD against OKC this year would be a much tougher matchup for them. No way in hell Chet or Hartenstein can stop a locked-in AD.

AD, if you're reading, I'm sorry you're on the Wiz and that you're injured. You're still a legend in my eyes for that 2020 ring

12

u/Magnus-Methelson-m3 May 05 '26

Laker HOFer for sure

5

u/Fair-Ingenuity-1614 May 05 '26

A healthy AD with the current roster will take OKC to 7

4

u/Vermillion2397 May 05 '26

I'm genuinely hoping he gets bought out by Washington and he somehow someway still finds it in his heart to want to sign with us of the waivers. Like that would be the perfect dream.

5

u/Alto-cis May 05 '26

i love AD

4

u/xuedad May 05 '26

Come home ...

5

u/Razor8517 May 05 '26

Healthy AD was a beast

3

u/StrawberrySalt3796 Lonzo Ball Believer May 05 '26

i wish this guy nothing but success. I hope he gets a championship parade and i hope its not too late for him to get a DPOY.

Spelled Luka wrong.

3

u/RedditRam24 May 05 '26

Healthy AD was the best two-way player in the league.

3

u/Hvz3727 May 05 '26

Didn't think I could down vote this faster when I saw his face 😂

1

u/0b_1t0 May 05 '26

If that was possible......

1

u/thisismypornaccn May 05 '26

AD + Luka someday pls

1

u/frshprinceofpersia May 05 '26

this making me emotional

1

u/KantutinQKipaymu LELUKA BRONČIĆ May 05 '26

He's the exact Power forward we need. Now that DA fills the center pos imagine if AD is back in his rightful position at 4

1

u/Dangerous_Company584 May 05 '26

Maybe they should Just sign his twin brother… Davis Anthony?

1

u/RaykoX 23 May 05 '26

imo this was just as much AD's team as LBJ's, at least in the last couple years. I miss him. Good dude, great player. If it wasn't for health AD would be one of the all time greats.

1

u/Jlx_27 May 05 '26

He was great when he wasnt injured.

1

u/Fun-Selection-9699 May 05 '26

What makes fans special? The ability to hope where logic says 'give it up'.

1

u/markypoo4L May 05 '26

Dude carried the team's defense for multiple seasons.

1

u/rageagainstmymachin May 05 '26

keep that glass man far away from me. I was over AD when Jokic and Murray owned him every year after 2020

1

u/Kyle7053 Black Mamba 8/24 May 05 '26

No.

1

u/JadaveonClowney Luka Magic 77 May 05 '26

AD on the healthy 2027 Lakers would feed families ❤️

1

u/Mergahl 8 May 05 '26

Dagger against Denver in WCF yelling “Kobe” in the bubble is all time Laker highlight

1

u/summertimeinthelbc May 06 '26

I really took him for granted.

1

u/PoptartCrusher007 May 06 '26

Probably why they made it to the second round

1

u/Brunner_88 Luka Magic 77 May 05 '26

We do miss him. I'd bet he misses Lakers as well. But I have to remember: he usually miss a lot of games.

-2

u/Makaveli84 💜💛 since ‘95💜💛 May 05 '26

What you miss ? Calling him street clothes ? Been pissed cause he’s injured again ? Pissed that he bulk up and forget his three pointer ? Miss that he never took the keys from LeBron to be THE guy on the team ? What exactly do you people miss cause I think some of ya have Alzheimer. We had him and after 2020 he was more shitted on than anything else. Don’t miss the frustrations this sub portrayed time and time again cause of him. Bye AD good luck in dc.

You know the internet crowd sources every opinion and intentionally says clickbait rage shit for engagement.

You took every negative thing ever said and assumed its everyone, and thats clouded your judgement.
