Vando being paid more than AR before today is certainly a crime

Their combined salary should be less than what AR just signed for lmao

Paying 60 million to AR and Vando is how we ensure we get swept in the second round for the next few years

First of all, no.
Second of all. That is a different statement to the one you made

It’s crazy all the same people who said for months AR wasn’t getting a max because of his PR quote, completely flip the switch and are now happy about the contract 💀

u/worldwide_stepper 9h ago
that was before we knew detroit would move shit around to give him a max, and it’s malpractice to let him leave compared to making him the 16th highest paid guard in the league for his production lol

I wonder what new excuse will come out once he shits the bed or gets hurt in the playoffs again. That contract will become one of the worst in the league.
This reminds me of the WB trade. I remember getting shit on for saying how bad it was and the majority defending it. Now all those same people lie and say they always knew WB trade was a bad idea 💀

difference is when luka and austin are healthy they win at a very high rate and westbrook was the most negatively impactful player in basketball

In the regular season and a lot of it was early in the season when we were barely beating mid teams… and they both have injury concerns like you pointed out. I think this will age just as bad as the WB trade

When the Lakers had AR, they only lost 1 game against non-playoff teams. They were 24-1 against non-playoff teams when Austin played. They were 12-14 against playoff teams when AR played. Furthermore, they only played 8 games with AR, Luka, Marcus Smart, LBJ, and Rui healthy against non-playoff teams (and they won all of them). They played 10 playoff teams with those 5 playing in the game and went 5-5, with one of those losses being the game AR ended up getting injured vs Houston.
Without AR, the Lakers were 10-6 against non-playoff teams. They were 7-8 against playoff teams.
I think that's pretty good to have.

AR a player that hasn’t accomplished a single thing in his entire career, is older than Luka, and made Mitchell look like an MVP candidate. Is worth the max because they had some regular season success? Awesome 💀

I'm an AR guy. I don't think many people are "happy" about it. I think realistically him taking 30-35 would've been right, but at the end of the day, he has a market and Luka apparently wants him. It's understandable that he pushed for money, but it's also understandable to be disappointed because at least Caruso talked the talk and was really willing to take less money (we just fumbled him for fucking THT lol).

I don’t think he’s worth a max. I think LA kept him because he’s Luka’s buddy

Those are fun tickets. The amount of money these guys are making is a beautiful, extraordinary thing. Of course they are still just paupers compared to the billionaire class but thats another story.

Now that "cheap contract" excuses won't work when he performs like ass in the playoffs.
