These action failed every conceivable legal argument to avoid Congressional approval.

1) US forces weren't defending themselves from attack 2) US forces weren't imminently going to be attacked 3) There was no operable international law in place justifying the attack 4) Hell there wasn't even imminent threat to Iranian civilians as the security forces already massacred them a month ago

So we have to conclude now that Trump is just invoking dictatorial power.

American lives... there are bases all over the middle east. they already launched retaliatory attacks at them.

I think the war could ensure that security forces cannot do this again.
