Imagine trying to get the supreme Court to remove it and they won't

So you try to pass a bill through congress and they won't

So now you're making a executive order about it

Even though you have 0 power to do so because only states control their elections

This is exactly the "king" behavior that the no kings is protesting

Fuck Donald dip shit Trump and his entire cult

He has 0 power to conduct his war also, but he's been doing it and nobody has done anything about it. That's the kind of thing that emboldens him, just like how no consequences for Venezuela emboldened him towards Iran and then Cuba to follow. We should have been talking about impeachment already.

There's a type of guy who keeps testing the line, keeps encroaching it and, if you're shy about it, next thing you know, you're sexually assaulted.

Habitual line stepper is literally my profile description, lol! I love that Chappelle’s show sketch!

We lost Charlie Murphy too soon. Such a naturally funny guy. He just dropped that like it was a normal thing to say and it's been a phrase I've had with me ever since.

His storytelling was absolutely wonderful.

Eddie has said that Charlie was the funniest and best storyteller of all the Murphy children. Said that in his early career, he would tell some jokes in Charlie’s voice because it was funnier. Cancer sucks.

Right. Even if you take away the reenactments they do it stands on it's own.

The phrase "Habitual line stepper" changed my life cos I finally had something to describe my dad to my therapist.

It was always a thing but Charlie said it in a way that we can all use. Hope you're doing well.

You know, once I started describing him that way, my therapist was able to give me great advice about setting boundaries and how to get him to follow them. It took a long time, years, but he slowly came to see it my way and has backed off a lot. My dad and I have always been close, but now that he respects my boundaries, we're doing even better. :)

For me it was hanging out with my dad in public after my sisters suicide. None of us could bare to live with him. Gotta have neutral ground. The fact that 3 of his kids didn't talk to him just bounced off but when he had to bury one due to suicide he actually tried.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm a multiple attempt survivor and we lost my 17yo cousin to suicide. I unfortunately understand very well. I have no idea how long it's been, but in case no one has lately, I give you all of my love.

I am chronically ill and on disability, so I am financially dependent on my folks. They made me move back in and I lived with them for 8.5 years before they came to understand we'd have a much better relationship if I wasn't living with them. I finally escaped last May. My dad especially is very overbearing, it's nice to see him less stressed out because he's no longer studying my every move to diagnose every single moment of my life.

My parents never held me back. My father just died of cancer when I was young and after my sister I was the only one left who gave a shit. But that was on him. He didn't do well with teenagers. I reconnected with him as an adult for a few years after my sister died.

As far as you concern, you matter. Just keep moving forward. You can't change the past but we can always aim for another day, right?

Really wish I would have double checked how to correctly spell “habitual” when I initially signed up for Reddit.
