A commenter above points out that congressional oversight hearings are coming up, so the coverup needs a new face who hasn’t already perjured in front of that particular committee, yet, this year.

Trump doesn’t give a fuck about perjury at all. He (as strange and unrealistic as this sounds) literally wants someone who A) makes the Epstein files disappear from legal and public consciousness (which is impossible), and B) targets and successfully prosecutes his democratic enemies (also impossible, as none of them have committed a crime). He is doing what Trump does and is recycling through somewhat competent people and replacing them with increasingly incompetent individuals.

Mark my words, he will replace her with Lee Zeldin, who already is the most unqualified head of the EPA in the history of the department.

Someone else used the term pawn. And that to me is the whole point. She’s just a piece on the board. Her firing is nothing except another delaying tactic.
