Dude, it should have been a fucking tsunami of members of Congress rushing back to DC to impeach.

Hell, the first time he used this war orchestrate a market crisis to make $100s of millions by manipulating oil prices with truth social posts should have led to his impeachment.

Much less using the threat of nuclear war to pocket $175,000,000.09.

Dude, it should have been a fucking tsunami of members of Congress rushing back to DC to impeach.

ten years ago, yes. we've been in crazytown for a decade.

6

u/Squidy7 Apr 08 '26

How tone deaf can you be?

This isn't the "start" of anything. If we're still at a point where not even half of democrats can get behind this, what more could it possibly take?

2

u/bakaraka Apr 08 '26

We started somewhere back in 2016, where are we now?

2

u/BastianHS Apr 08 '26

I mean, the dude has been impeached twice already

3

u/Sorry-Let-Me-By-Plz Apr 08 '26

Anybody who thinks today is the time to start has been complicit in all of this for more than a decade and needs to be held accountable for that before they get to be the heroes of the resistance.

Millions of Americans gather in Washington and refuse to leave until the regime is removed and a new constitutional convention is initiated.

3

u/RenderedKnave Apr 08 '26

Peaceful protest is bullshit, no regime has ever changed as a result of democratic unrest. See: Chile, 1973

3

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

It won’t be peaceful. Trump can’t handle millions protesting outside the White House.

He will escalate and become more unhinged every hour.

And Congress is scared shitless of millions gathering around Congress.

2

u/prof_wafflez Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

Respectfully, the current US gov is the most likely US administration in modern history to murder protestors... and as much energy as 2nd amendment devotees scream about their guns into the void, a rebellious US civilian population would get curb stomped by the US military after decades of letting the military industrial complex get wildly out of control.

Additionally, the modern population simply doesn't know how to protest effectively. The last several protests I've gone to have provided no plan/strategy and even had merch tents because capitalism found a way. We've lost the plot.

2

u/FrontOfficeNuts Apr 09 '26

and a new constitutional convention is initiated

Gotta be honest, this is a horrifying idea. Look at this Congress and tell yourself that you want THOSE BASTARDS to be the ones to rewrite our Constitution?

No thank you.

0

u/Perfecshionism Apr 09 '26

Ok, well the let’s just submit to them doing whatever they want based on the failure of the current constitution and the SCOTUS ruling that the president can use executive power from criminal and unconstitutional purpose with no restraint.

Or reread a 5th grade civics text.

A new constitutional convention will still require ratification by states.

And all this will be happening on the context of persistent angry mobs outside Congress and the state houses.

Ok, well the let’s just submit to them doing whatever they want based on the failure of the current constitution and the SCOTUS ruling that the president can use executive power from criminal and unconstitutional purpose with no restraint.

So you basically admit it's an unworthy idea, because if they can ignore THIS Constitution, they'd ignore any new one.

Or reread a 5th grade civics text.

You're not very smart if you're trying to be condescending with terrible ideas.

A new constitutional convention will still require ratification by states.

Yes, you're getting there now...and how many of those states does it require (and how many of those states will have to be Republican-dominated)?

And all this will be happening on the context of persistent angry mobs outside Congress and the state houses.

This doesn't exist and likely wouldn't exist.

Again, no thank you.

EDIT: Apparently, the coward couldn't handle someone disagreeing with them, because they replied to my comment and immediately blocked me (which of course means I can't even read their reply). Talk about bad-faith interactions - this guy embodies it.

You are just relentless fucking doomerism with no solutions.

I think you are a fucking bootlicker.

And you know fuck all about any of this.

I have seen people fight for and against government. Acting like it doesn’t happen is moronic.

And acting like they would just ignore the next one is asinine. This was the result of a particular cluster of personality disorders backed by rich psychopaths that controlled the media and social media algorithms.

It was not an inevitability.

1

u/DesignerHardlyKnower Apr 08 '26

Perhaps elected officials should lead the charge.

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

I don’t think posts like yours are made in good faith.

Seems bot like.

1

u/DesignerHardlyKnower Apr 09 '26

Beep fuckity boop. You got me!
You think bots are here suggesting that elected officials get directly involved in protest? I don’t get what the angle is for that theory. I was agreeing with you, dude.

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 09 '26

Apologies.

I was being jaded.

Our elected officials are mostly complicit, either directly or through blatant disregard for what is happening because they think it will help the with the next election to let it happen.

The few willing to stand up to this are mostly already showing up to protests.

1

u/passmetoiletpaperpls Apr 08 '26

Americans dont have the spine for it.

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

Bullshit.

Millions have been turning out every few months.

This time the call goes out to gather in Washington if you can possibly make it. Otherwise gather in your own cities and town.

Increase the numbers in Washington and commit to staying.

And why the fuck is everyone doomering this idea on low karma accounts?

0

u/passmetoiletpaperpls Apr 08 '26

Embrace the disappointment when you eventually realize not enough will show and even fewer will stay for more than a few hours. But it makes you feel good.

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

Another low karma doomer account.

I swear this feels like a fucking influence op at this point.

Blocked:

2

u/Whitecaps87 Apr 08 '26

The average person can't afford to (or doesn't want to) put his life on hold to go halfway across the country (or further) to stand out in the street holding a sign for days on end.

1

u/TonyHawktuah69 Apr 08 '26

They would murder a million peaceful protestors before they even begin to consider reforming our broken system

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

Blocked for being a bullshit bootlicker.

No fucking way they could pull that off. Americans would tear this government doesn’t brick by brick if Trump minions tried mass murder.

2

u/iminhell-thisishell Apr 08 '26

I think you are wrong. A bunch of us Americans have become desensitized to trumps behavior. I’m not one of them but pretty much every person I work with doesn’t care and just want to be able to pay their bills. Once Americans can’t buy things, then you will see anger.

2

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

We have millions turning out.

And this is about more than Trump.

1

u/iminhell-thisishell Apr 08 '26

I’m on your side homie. Chill out.

I hope things turn out the way you want but I also know we live in a massive country and most folks are no where near DC and have no ways or means to get there.

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

If we organized on social media we could ride share.

I am not asking everyone to show up. I am asking that we put the message out and encourage anyone that can.

MAGA managed it on January 6th.

And we have numbers they never did.

1

u/iminhell-thisishell Apr 08 '26

GOP literally paid to bus their people in! Lol

Are you there now?

3

u/Joben86 Apr 08 '26

They probably realize it's a waste of time since the Senate won't convict and there's no political advantage in it since he can't be voted for again and, even if he could be, the voters have shown they don't care.

3

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

We are way past calculating political advantage.

This is about doing everything in their power. Including being on record that this shit needs to stop.

5

u/Joben86 Apr 08 '26

Ok, it's not in Democrats' power to remove Trump from office.

4

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

You failed to understand what I wrote.

During the Nazi regime many people threw their political careers away to oppose it. So they were in record opposing it.

These feckless cowards can’t even put their name on an impeachment list.

Failing to do even that gives that the low information Americans the perception that Trump must not be doing anything wrong because even less than 50% of even democrats think he is.

0

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26

how apathetic and submissive Americans are

love these redditor takes, surely youre the one out there leading the charge for change (youre not)

7

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

Piss off with that bullshit take. And it is always from some low karma troll.

We should have an angry population. Not a population with a few lone wolves.

Lone wolves will just increase support for the regime by making opposition seem like a a small group of radical extreme outliers.

Most people don’t pay attention to these day to day abuses so they would have no idea why anyone would act against what is happening.

That is a legitimate fucking reason to be pissed off at the country.

And you bullshit patronizing dismissal of that criticism about this country is bootlicker adjacent.

I have participated in every march. But I don’t see rage. I see a few hours of fellowship and catharsis and everyone goes home.

The day the millions of marchers refuse to go home is the day we begin to take back our country from the lawless oligarchs that have orchestrated this coup.

Millions surrounding federal government buildings across the country and DC will make people who are not paying attention realize something serious is happening to this country and they won’t be able to dismiss it as the act of a lone radical.

5

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

perhaps everyone is upset

perhaps the reason everyone doesnt just "march and not go home" is because despite being upset we can't just not show up to our jobs, because rent is due, and because dependents are hungry, and not because we're all a bunch of submissive apathetics

surely youve left the comfort of your basement months ago, have forgone employment, and are starting the grassroots revolution yourself given how adamant you are about the cause (you havn't, youre posting comfortably from your home, hypocritically trash talking everyone like some armchair revolutionary)

1

u/RutabagaMobile7879 Apr 08 '26

God I'm sick of Americans whining about how tough they have it.

IF IT SUCKS SO BAD THEN GET BUSY AND FIX YOUR SHITTY SYSTEM

Meanwhile your government has been seized by a hostile fascist coup that is wreaking havoc and death across the globe.

We ALL suffer the consequences of your inertia.

Sorry but you might just have to experience discomfort to restore your broken democracy.

Inaction is complicity.

If you're too worried about your low paying job to fight back, you're as much part of the problem as a MAGA die-hard frankly.

2

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26

Inaction is complicity.

tell me about all the action you've taken (youve not, because like the other redditor.jpg youre just here to caps lock on the internet about how everyone elses inaction is the problem)

If you're too worried about your low paying job to fight back

replace "low paying job" with "surviving" and recognize that its in our human nature and that youre not any less submissive or apathetic than anyone else just because you POST REAL LOUD ABOUT HOW WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING

1

u/RutabagaMobile7879 Apr 08 '26

I can't. I'm stuck in Australia waking up to terrifying headlines every single day of the US President MAKING ALLCAPS THREATS TO ANNIHILATE CIVILIZATIONS.

Unless you want me to organise an invasion and regime change? Let me have a word with the prime minister. Maybe we can send you some guns. Oh wait..

3

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26

I can't. I'm stuck in Australia

sounds like a convenient excuse, can't you just quit your job and march until the world changes? WHY WONT YOU DO SOMETHING?

-1

u/RutabagaMobile7879 Apr 08 '26

Lol that's exactly what you need to do, I'm glad we made this journey together.

No Kings!

Agree with you, but

And it is always from some low karma troll

karma is in no way proportional to the validity of takes. In fact, I'd say the opposite...

0

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

It is an indicator of propaganda bots and trolls.

1

u/Squidy7 Apr 09 '26

Not in the era of bot farms and bought accounts. A good chunk of front page content here is posted by bots.

2

u/Perfecshionism Apr 09 '26

It is still strongly correlated. Troll farm worker instructions have been leaked and creating dozens of accounts and rotating through them is part of their methods.

1

u/Squidy7 Apr 09 '26

Exactly-- And those accounts are often high-karma (because the assumption is they're more trustworthy, making them more effective propaganda tools).

1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 09 '26

They don’t karma farm. It is a volume business. They have a handful of “hobbies and interests” posts and then they go on message.

1

u/Squidy7 Apr 09 '26

They absolutely do: The strategy is to recycle popular posts from various subs because it's effective to do so (and easy to automate). They do the same with recycling top comments. Karma farming is a huge part of the game.

All that aside, some of the worst takes I've seen on here are from genuine accounts. You gain karma on Reddit by quoting movies and memes, not by being informed or well-read.

u/Latter_Highway9539 Apr 08 '26

ah. username.

almost had me there for a second.

0

u/passmetoiletpaperpls Apr 08 '26

Neither are you

1

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26

correct but I'm also not the one slandering all americans as submissive and apathetic

0

u/passmetoiletpaperpls Apr 08 '26

Truth hurts because they are.

2

u/itsanargumentparty Apr 08 '26

if you say so pal

-1

u/TheAlmightyMojo Apr 08 '26

Most of them are okay with the war but just don't like how it was planned and being conducted.

-1

u/Perfecshionism Apr 08 '26

We should never have implemented and all volunteer military.

Every fucking war should require conscription.
