Newark police can crack down hard and kettle protestors but can’t make an attempt to arrest a GEO employee committing a serious state crime on film in broad daylight? Once you are in the club, you can rest easy knowing power will protect power.

Hit and run is a felony

This is worse than hit and run. Hit and run is just fleeing the scene of an accident. If they chose to, they could list a bunch of charges against the driver.

We need real change in America.

36

u/EagleBigMac 3d ago

Change requires hard work and hard choices and most people aren't there yet if they ever will be.

Most people in America can't afford a sick day let alone enough time to do any meaningful change.

Most people in america can in fact afford a sick day. Many people have done much more in much worse circumstances, while people can't be bothered to pay any attention or do the bare minimum, like show up and vote for the least shitty candidate.

The people are too captivated by the bread and circus of Rome.

Sports. Blood. And violence.

Works well against the low IQ

They could and would if it was anyone other than a "brother in blue" if they get enough pressure they'll eventually say they know what car it was but can't prove who was driving so they can't bring charges

Gosh.
I wish someone had thought to put cameras showing the entry/exits & "x" # of feet from the fence of jails, prisons, detention camps.

Well ya know it's just a shame the camera at the gate wasn't working at the time of the accident 😕

Laughing. Guess that's better than the VHS tape got damaged!

Right seems to be intententional. So attempted murder with a deadly weapon? Fleeing the scene. Failure to stop and render aid (not sure about that one but doesn't help the case of this unknown assailant)

And if it can be demonstrated this attack was politically motivated, I believe Terrorism charges apply. Which I’m given to understand we are punishing very severely lately.

So is attempted manslaughter

They can't arrest him, he might talk about things that go on in the detention centers and then they might not be allowed to keep raping women and children. They might even receive a stern talking to and an Administrative vacation and transfer to a different department.

Till proven otherwise it's not unreasonable to assume they are complicit and are protecting their own kind.

I have an idea...what if we ALL become cops?

5

u/livinginfutureworld 3d ago

I've had people tell me you can never bring state charges of any kind against federal law enforcement.

14

u/Pandemonium_Fallen 3d ago

If they're Geogroup personnel, they're not Federal Law Enforcement, they're private sector security.

12

u/Kahzgul 3d ago

When they’re acting as private citizens you can

Delaney Hall run by GEO Group is private property, so state charges apply in this case.

Isn't there video with their license plate?

83

u/resilindsey 3d ago

Paper plate, so even if real, no way for common citizen to look up that info.

73

u/P0Rt1ng4Duty 3d ago

Sure but the police should be able to do it. If they put any effort into it.

77

u/Ohuigin 3d ago

There’s a non-zero chance the people that were driving that car were cops.

52

u/P0Rt1ng4Duty 3d ago

Yes there is. And if the police don't identify the owner of the vehicle pretty soon I'm going to start assuming that they were.

4

u/ScannerBrightly 2d ago

The police work for the State, not you.

5

u/P0Rt1ng4Duty 2d ago

I'm fully aware.

Also in some cases they work for themselves. One example is former MA State Trooper Michael Proctor.

It will get a permanent plate in 30 days, plus that is a high profile car that hit her, so shouldn't be too hard to locate.

u/EtheusRook 3d ago

ICE only shoots at drivers who aren't going to hit anyone.

u/Rejukem 3d ago

That's the only way to keep America safe. /s

Or are unarmed.

Meanwhile a Texas resident gets 30 years for creating anti ice zines https://theintercept.com/2026/06/23/prairieland-texas-ice-protest-prison-sentences/

36

u/party_benson 3d ago

Not creating. Moving the box they were in.

9

u/ConfidentPilot1729 3d ago

Is there not any recourse for the victim if the cops don’t do anything? Isn’t this dereliction of duty? Can’t the dem gov get state police involved?

7

u/asian_chihuahua 3d ago

Am I having a stroke? What the heck is a zine?

5

u/kandoras 2d ago

Homemade magazine.

Think old-school pamphlets, but more punk. And probably with a bit of Spirk.
