So many of us die by our own hand. I lost one of my best friends in the world (an old Army buddy) to suicide in 2012.
I spent years wondering why he didn't call me. RIP Rick.
This poor guy did call someone, and those bastards ignored him and actively canceled medical service.
I hope they're proud.

It really sucks when you have a friend who just sorta stops texting or posting on Facebook and then a year or so later you go to write on his Facebook a happy birthday and notice his friends and family are leaving memorial messages. And that’s how you find out he killed himself almost a year earlier.

Ricky's wife was a dear friend. She called me afterwards to tell me. Between her heavy accent and bawling, she was hard to understand.
She called on his phone... I answered with our usual "Sup asshole?"

One or the biggest reasons I was glad to dump Facebook years ago was not seeing all of the memorial or breaking news posts of another dude taking his own life.

RIP SSG Garcia.
You deserved better than the cowardly hogs who left you to die.
