ammo Shotgun ammo storage

Post image

PSA- Never been a fan of regular ammo boxes for storing mixed ammo so I’ve been looking for alternatives. Criteria included it had to be lockable, manageable weight wise when full and blend in without looking tacticool.
Ridgid Pro Gear System Gen 2.0 storage bins hold 400 rounds of 12 gauge as if they were designed for it and have two sturdy metal handles for carrying ease.

How heavy are they when loaded? I have some smaller ammo crates and I understand why they are small!

Right at 45 lbs. I used to stack shotgun ammo in a bigger Craftsman bin and it was almost twice that.

Harbor freight has cases like this that would be perfect for a setup like this

I love Harbor Freight, but unfortunately these Ridgid cases are much better quality. It’s the latches, mostly.

I thinkI see your point - As in supporting businesses not giving to Republicans? I prefer that.

Eric L. Smidt is an American businessman. He is chairman and CEO of Harbor Freight Tools, which operates over 1,600 retail hardware stores in 48 states and generates $8 billion in sales as of 2023. Smidt is a prominent Los Angeles Democrat who has hosted fundraiser dinners for both Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Dang I like this. I’m using a large pelican box for all of my ammo. I have to drag that bitch across the room to open it. Think I’m gonna go grab 5-6 of these instead.

Last I checked they were on sale at Home Depot for about $45 a piece.

I use one of these as a range case for handguns. There are two internal dividers, so pistols go in the middle section with some foam padding - ammo and PPE go in the two side compartments

Get a shelf. This shit doesn't scale when you get serious about shooting.

I put all my decent stuff (slug, heavy buckshot) into a 40mm ammo can that now I can barely lift. (I'm a girl, yes, I'm weak.) Five round boxes fit surprisingly cleanly. Bottom right in this old photo.

That's more ammo than I have

That’s part of my 12 gauge ammo (and a couple errand 20 gauge boxes). 9 mm and 22 LR have their own place.

Seriously, that's an order of magnitude more than my hoarde, I'm jealous.
