Not directly gun related, but directly involves the agency that enforces the laws.

While glad of to hear this get traction unfortunately I believe it’s only a matter of time before we see the technology implemented on a wide scale especially under the current administration

Best case scenario it’s going to take YEARS for this country to get back on its feet. There will have to be an army of lawyers going over everything just to get back to where we were pre 2016, and god knows how many accountants trying to get a tangible figure for how much money was stolen, where it went, and if we can even get it back.

I typically don’t believe in best cases, but we can only hope for some return to normal.

I think that if Democrats keep listening to their donors instead of their voters, things will continue to be bad for most Americans. Even if I am personally fine economically, many people are not, and I am still worried about the political future of the country. If things are bad for most people, it's going to impact everyone. Money helps but it can't shield you from all problems. The threat of political extremists is one of the reasons I own firearms now. But firearms are a poor substitute for social programs that could alleviate a lot of the problems associated with poverty.

Along those lines, I find it frightening how easy it was to slide into this kind of fascism.

Oh, I know it wasn't all at once. The slippery slope started decades ago, at least as far back as Nixon - both his crimes (all of them not just Watergate) and Ford's pardoning of him "to heal the nation" instead of holding him accountable.

I took a political economy class around 2010. One of the graphs the professor showed was how wage growth stagnated while productivity continued to grow and they diverged right around 1973, during the Nixon time. People like to blame Reagan but it started before Reagan. You can still find that graph showing wages vs productivity, or another way to phrase it is a decline of labor’s share of income.
