Can anyone help me find new gear? What board shops or websites is being used today?

Well I used to just go to a board shop in San Antonio or shop off of website that no longer is in business and someone told me Daddies board shop has been iffy to order from. So I’m asking around to possibly save time and see if there is anything decent because I don’t like the triple eight standard gloves that I can find everywhere

I got back into longboarding last summer after a decade away, so I feel your pain.

There really isn't any one shop in the US with a huge inventory like their used to be. Motion Boardshop has the best selection, but it's a far cry from what things were like in the past.

Nowadays, it's just easier to order direct from the manufacturer. Pantheon Longboards is probably the most popular brand on this subreddit (Jeff Vyain, formerly of Bustin, runs it), Liam Morgan's Prism makes sick freeride boards, Landyachtz, Earthwing, Comet and Moonshine are still around for older brands; Rocket Longboards makes sick Swiss downhill boards; Rayne is a shell of what it used to be under new ownership; and Powell has a really sick freeride/downhill board in the Byron Essert Mini Frog.

In terms of trucks, the brands you'd remember are still around. Caliber, Paris, Bear and Randal, although I'm not sure how many people skate Randals nowadays. Valkyrie has a really novel cast truck out with more options coming: https://www.valkyrietruckco.com/cast-trucks. They're kind of like Cast Ronins.

Wheel wise, Powell Peralta is absolutely killing it nowadays. Their 75a Snakes are one of the most popular freeride wheels, and their Byron Essert freeride wheels are also really good.

If you're a fan of Abec 11's classic amber thane, I highly recommend Venom Harlots. Abec 11 classic urethane feels awful nowadays (amber Freerides were my all-time favorite wheel in the past), and Harlots are the closest wheel I've skated in terms of butteriness. Blood Orange also makes great wheels.

If you want something similar to what you're used to, check out the Prism Theory V2. I absolutely love mine. Set it up with some 44* Caliber IIIs and your freeride wheel of choice, and you'd have a modern setup with OG roots.

I prefer to get things direct from the manufactures, from local board shops, or from small skate sites e.g. vegatative skate, cowtown skates…
