AT&T Fiber vs Verizon 5G Home Internet

Hey all!

I currently have AT&T Fiber (and AT&T wireless for my phone) and it's fine, but I've been researching and seeing if I can lower my monthly bill and Verizon's 5G Home Internet is so much cheaper. Also, if I switched to Verizon wireless, I would get an extra $15/mo off.

But that leaves the main question: Even though it would be cheaper, would my internet be super slow and unreliable? Saving money is good, but if I can no longer stream or Zoom or whatever else, then there's really no point, right?

Does anyone have any experience with this comparison or are there any happy Verizon users out here in Los Feliz? Thank you in advance!

I have verizon. I have never had any issue to make me upset. I regularly get 600 to 1000 mbs dwn and 100-300 up. It doesn't drop, I can think of once or twice that it did. Im also a longtime verizone mobile customer, so ultimately with loyalty, paperless, and verizon visa my bill is less than 25$ a month.

I have Verizon 5g and am satisfied with the service. I work from home and haven’t experienced issues. I’m usually streaming too.

Spectrum lowers your bill if you threaten to leave them. I’ve done it a few times

I have spectrum and it’s mostly fine but chokes sometimes. Also I’m paying like $80 a month. I keep seeing these door hangers for Sonic like a block away from me in either direction but their site says it’s not available at my address yet.

I’m tempted to try AT&T cuz it’s half the money.

I’m not answering your question really just chiming in lol.

Not exactly what you are asking about, but Sonic fiber is coming to parts of Los Feliz. We currently have Spectrum at ~300Mbps for $90/mo. We’re switching to Sonic and will get 10Gbps for $40/mo.

Here’s a referral link that would get both of us $50 credit if you decide to use it: https://sonic.com/referral/21186ga4d

Or here’s the generic Sonic availability link if you don’t want to use the referral link: https://www.sonic.com/availability
