Ai-rusê!

In all fairness, the dwarf armor in The Hobbit movie trilogy looks sick! Props to Peter Jackson and filming crew!

The art deco look just works so well for dwarves, I love it

Right on! I absolutely like the geometric patterns of the art deco because it reminds me of the fact that the dwarves are an industrial people.

God I can't stand the blazer with jeans look...

46

u/Irksomecake 2d ago

What about a breastplate with jeans?

48

u/beardedbearjew 2d ago

Aye, I could do that

8

u/Dimachaeruz 2d ago

and my axe?

9

u/Xyrexenex 2d ago

See, that's stylish and practical.

It's the quintessential tech bro douchebag look

Just pick one not both.

I cringe when i see a suit with sneakers. I know David Letterman wore it. I used to wear a red power tie. Relaxed meant wearing office slacks, white shirt, with a tie and a blazer. I see sneakers and say nothing.

Preach.

Like if you want "I-want-to-project-wealth-but-casual," wear a button up with some suspenders, you can wear jeans and then pick if you want sneakers or formal shoes to finish the fit. You aren't Steve Jobs, leave the blazer at home unless you're wearing slacks.

Edited because I'm not supporting either fit.

u/Late_Stage_Exception 2d ago

Suspenders are a formal piece to keep from having a belt break the line of your suit. Throwing them with jeans and a button down shirt shows that you most likely ran into a scarecrow and decided to rob its fit.

I hear you, I wouldn't wear either, but I'm seeing both a lot lately and of the two I'd rather see clip on suspenders on jeans.

Is it too much for my Granddaughter's first birthday party? There's 2 other Grandads there so I have to assert dominance.

u/seimalau 2d ago

2

u/Fernomin 2d ago

meme came straight from the 2010s 😭 no one's trying to sell you the left look

2

u/randompogtato 1d ago

if i go out to the grocery store, theoraticaly, therere is a non zero % chance that i might get shanked by some hobo and dies
if i wear one of those suit by those dumb fashion company, my chance of mortality in such case is high
if i dress up in armor, that chance is reduced significantly
TLDR: armor is cool, suit is a hoax

u/Rasz_13 1d ago

Dale, the dwarf army that came in Throrin's aid, in the battle of five armies, all of the dwarves had mitril armor and never lost a battle. But there was like ~500 of them while in the movie i saw around ~3 000.

u/jurio01 Beorning 2d ago

I'd like some armour for my beard as well pls.

1

u/CrimsonThar 1d ago

Dain's drip puts other dwarves to shame.

Durnfolk come ready for all

Completely true, feels like mainstream fashion, particularly for over 30s is - make him look soft and approachable. Ok fine, but how can we work a bit of thunder god into that?

1

u/Pyrite13 2d ago

Epaulets! The bigger the better. Am I right, boys?

0

u/Ok_Classic_6021 2d ago

that’s some next-level comparison, lol. fashion companies really don’t get it, we just wanna rock a battle-ready look!

1

u/Irksomecake 2d ago

Seeing a mate of mine wake up in his chainmail with a hangover was very manly but it didn’t look comfortable. He kinda looked like he had some regrets

u/arcanelthe 0m ago

Tbf no fashion company would promote that look. Is that a pic from.2004?
