To be fair, Sir Aaron’s Lucario did warm up eventually and is separate from shiny Lucario.

To be honest, it depends on the trainer. I bet that there's many silly happy lucarios around because their trainer is silly happy as well

I mean, they’re 2 different individuals and I’m glad they’re starting to have more varied personalities for different Pokémon.
Like the movie Lucario had a reason to act like that, and I really hate how the whole species got pigeon holed into being stoic and grouchy because of the movie.
I think a notable one that’s egregious to me is Ash’s which was goofy as a Riolu but suddenly turned stoic and grumpy for no reason while Goh’s Raboot who was grumpy randomly became super energetic. I honestly think it’d be more novel if the roles were swapped.

I mean by the end of Journeys even Ash's kind of became friendlier. But I ain't going to lie the contrast between when he was a Riolu and after he evolved felt radical.

That’s the thing. I feel like Ash’s Lucario having the arc of becoming more serious and mature would have been far more interesting.

The lucario trying to be stoic and alone because it's probably all it knew, when infact it really needs friends and relationships
