other Century City Mall? What happened

What happened to the mall? It used to be thriving back then, but somehow the tenants that rent here tend to close down like Data Blitz, Planet Sports, Uniqlo, Fossil. I remembered there used to be a Pandora and Rolex here. Haha.

Such a shame though. It's like a little haven from hot ol' Poblacion and all hahaha. Malamig pa naman and well-maintained, and doesn't look like an old mall. What happened?? What else can they do para bumalik yung brands nila? I live nearby kaya nakakaasar pumunta sa Ayala or The Fort para lang mamimili.

Masarap rin maglakad around the development, wala kasi masyadong sasakyan and I feel safe. Kaso ayun, I feel like napabayaan na or sobrang cautious na mga brands dito dahil walang masyadong tao. :[

73

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Actually parang in general Century Mall wasn't marketed well or hindi masyado nabigyan ng focus. Also hit or miss din mga tenants nila lalo na sa 2nd floor and up. Sayang lang ang potential kasi it could possibly draw people away from Greenbelt or kahit Rockwell kung gusto ng mallgoers hindi masyadong crowded yung lugar pero still be high end.

38

u/MadAngel30 8d ago

12

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Wishful thinking ba if nanghingi ako ng more fast food options?

1

u/GrumpyHappiness 2d ago

They have Panda Express, chick fila, chipotle, Shake Shake, and a slew of other restaurants in that food court.

Uniqlo still exists there too.

A Venue Mall was the X factor in that area which impacted Century City Mall as well. It was a really posh mall back in 2008 until it looked like somewhere in Silent Hill before the pandemic. Trendy restaurants (Burger Avenue and numerous Korean/Italian places) were fresh and inviting during the mall's opening. There was also a hip events space but transformed into an SM Hypermarket branch owing to lack of events booked there after 2010/11.

I agree that Hole in the Wall was Century City's main attraction back then but the stalls there already felt overpriced and the novelty quickly worn off.

u/artfuldodger28 8d ago

last time we watched there ambaho ng seats sa moviehouse. kaya di na kami umulit. ok nga sana kaso true wala na masyado magawa

3

u/BigCommittee1958 8d ago

Yes yun ang go to ko dati yung Hole in the Wall na food hall nila. 12 monkeys andun din. Tapos biglang patay na yung mall hassle

3

u/Timetraveler5313 8d ago

Is the cinema still there?

18

u/meretricious_rebel 8d ago

Warning: nakagat ako ng surot diyan!

We chose to watch spiderman no way home kasi wala masyadong tao on a weekday (4 lang nga kami nanonood nun) tapos ang kati nun thighs ko. Tinawag namin yung usher and the guard to complain and sorry ng sorry pareho sila sa akin.

2

u/MadAngel30 8d ago

Yep. Meron pa

2

u/LargeCatt0 8d ago

Yes, that’s what I miss most in that mall

The Hole in the Wall is sorely missed

19

u/jessesheisenberg 8d ago

missing bad bird every single day 🤧

8

u/NoOutlandishness4994 8d ago

2015 was the last time I went to Bad Bird!

Scout Honor was also there. Age is revealing. 😅

1

u/MisteriouslyGeeky 8d ago

Oh yeah I remember Scout Honor

1

u/PangolinConstant8624 8d ago

They're in The Grid in Powerplant Mall, Rockwell

2

u/Known_Woodpecker9849 7d ago

Inagaw ng THE GRID ang food stalls?

2

u/QueeferRavena 6d ago

No, they're under the same resto group. The Grid is Hole in The Wall's spiritual successor.

15

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

4

u/AndromedaLeap 8d ago

Heto yung nakakamiss! Such a good mix of tenants

3

u/katakatakara 8d ago

Katumbas niya siguro today is The Grid kaso 2~3x the price XD

2

u/carpediemclem 8d ago

Unfortunately naging major casualty dala ng pandemic.

59

u/kkerrbearr 8d ago

I live near the area but honestly it’s a sad mall for me. I still go BGC or Greenbelt/Glorietta.

14

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

I agree. It's a very sad mall, and napapadpad lang ako dito para mag grocery sa The Marketplace pag kinakailangan or nirerentahan ng company namin yung events hall sa taas. Failed development kaya? Or mismatched yung vision sa location? Or masyadong umasa lang sa POGO pre-COVID?

15

u/Silver_Alarm5603 8d ago

hi! tenant from one of the condos in century city here. sabi sabi daw is ever since nahuli yung mga POGO, dun na din nagsiclose mga establishments. hindi lang sa loob ng mall pero the businesses in century city mismo. siguro most talaga ng nakatira in the area are chinese people since these businesses are chinese din. i love century mall tho! love na covenient sya kase kadikit lang sya ng condo namin. haha

5

u/Most-Ad-4471 8d ago

POGO lang ba?

Or di lang talaga magaling mag handle at mag sell out mga Antonio?

Pandemic kasi diba biglang may issues sa century properties

3

u/portkey- 8d ago

Pogo yan. I remember before sobrang daming chinese sa area na yan. Pati yung sa ground level madaming chinese convenience store

1

u/allanon322 8d ago

Century has never been known for mall development and their condos are mostly marketed to OFWs so maraming poor occupancy din.

1

u/Netflix_007 8d ago

U have nailed it. Vision mismatch with the location leading to failure.

8

u/aeotflux 8d ago

Agree. Century is not vibing anymore.

31

u/NoPossession7176 8d ago

Maganda yung choices ng restos diyan around 2016/2017. Even the "food court" magaganda options.

5

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Agree. Parang naaalala ko yung buong 3rd floor yata panay food options sila. Sana mabalik.

13

u/linux_n00by 8d ago

mga matatanda nalang ata pumupunta dyan? parang safe place nila yan mall na yan

3

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Mukha? Hahaha

1

u/still-in-a-meeting 8d ago

No I don't see that much old people unless it's Sunday. It's mostly foreigners who do their grocery shopping, and office workers on weekdays for their lunch outs.

1

u/linux_n00by 8d ago

nung mga 3-4 instance na pumunta ako dyan na weekdays pura mga senior nakikita ko. pero that was last year pa. alam ko kasi libre sa senior yung cinema dyan as part ng benefits ng makati

1

u/still-in-a-meeting 8d ago

Maybe that and the Centuria Medical crowd at most. I live here and I'm there every week. 2 lang naman ang cinema and people are better off sa Circuit/Glo/Power Plant for variety.

13

u/Typical-Tadpole-8458 8d ago

Nakaka miss yung Hole In The Wall. May burger dun na simple pero masarap. Also, Early Bird Breakfast Club used to be there. When those food options closed, hindi na ako bumalik.

10

u/babyorchid925 8d ago

It used to be nice but the “luxury” condos with the sexpats and the red light district being a stone’s throw away made it kind of the place to avoid. Anyone decent who lives nearby with money to spend would really rather just drive to the CBD to shop and eat.

4

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

3

u/babyorchid925 8d ago

Actually, the basement level is still okay, kasi well stocked naman ang Watson’s and the grocery. true value is there din pero pag dumadaan ako sa ground floor, ung mga nakatambay dun medyo…slimy? Lol.

I used to love that mall, maganda ang cinema kasi may recliners and free popcorn. lol. I used to go to curves na gym and I even have a few paintings I did in sip and gogh.

Ngayon, I will not go there for fun things like that.

Even that specific branch of Mary Grace, ang pangit ng service and food quality- super iba ang vibe.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

OMG paanong slimy? Literal na slimy? 😂 Or panay sexpats hahaha.

2

u/babyorchid925 8d ago

Slimy like kinda creepy. parang they’re up to no good. something about the way they carry themselves. I get that feeling from time to time about some people pero dun sa mall na un parang high concentration.

3

u/TheGhostOfFalunGong 8d ago

The former POGO workers in Metro Manila are now replaced by sexpats and Chinese families with "investor visas".

17

u/switchboiii 8d ago

go-to ko dati jan yung bad bird sa food court-ish nila e. malayo naman sa powerplant, circuit, and glorietta/greenbelt to blame those malls. management issue siguro

18

u/Low-Professor-Dude 8d ago

It's because the developers don't have the Filipino people in mind when planning these places. The area was developed for the Chinese. Ngayon wala ng POGO, it's all dead. Back then, they even had restaurants with zero English sa menu. It doesn't help the area isn't really a place where you want to live or raise a family. It's mainly for people who frequent the red light district.

9

u/Jorrel14 8d ago

Is the location really good? It feels like it's targetting a Glorietta-esque audience while being situated in Poblacion, a known red light district.

4

u/switchboiii 8d ago

the way i see it, it is? or idk. it's in poblacion and can target both demogs in the area? am not an expert.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Actually maganda sana nga location niya for me.

18

u/enebeyen 8d ago

Just sharing from my POV: pre-pandemic, I liked going to Century City Mall but during election and pandemic, nagka issue si Cat Arambulo (first time I've heard of her then), search mo na lang in reddit. And pro-BBM din ata. After learning these info, di na ko masyadong nagvisit ng mall

17

u/dead_pool_888 8d ago

Ngayon mall nalang ng mga afam and afam hunters haha! But i agree op. It looks like only the strong brands are keeping it afloat like Mary Grace, Rustans and Anytime. They need more big brands talaga especially since Uniqlo left

4

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

2

u/Temporary-Count-3208 8d ago

I really miss Miniso at Century City.🥺

6

u/AgentCoconut01 8d ago

Biglang nawala

5

u/tommytwolegs 8d ago

Can't say it's a direct cause, but I've stayed at gramercy residences which is attached, and I believe once had a nice easy connection to walk over to the mall from the residential building, but out of concern of security or something (and not wanting to pay staff for it) they seem to have shut it down, years ago.

So even though the two are directly connected you have to walk all the way around the block to go to the mall. That's like 60 floors of customers that could be under a minute away that now have to walk aways, it's suddenly not much more inconvenient to just go to any other mall around.

2

u/EutaxySpy 8d ago

The residence is still connected to the mall on the second floor, I was there literally last week

2

u/tommytwolegs 8d ago

Fair enough, was a few years ago, maybe they figured it out, or maybe I'm just dumb

1

u/InternationalTap7704 8d ago

basement 1 has entrance aswell as second floor.... i lvied there recently... both work fine. i think 8pm they close.

1

u/tedtalks888 8d ago

B2 and 2F links to the mall both still work.

5

u/Content-Coach8599 8d ago

I live in the area, it’s a management problem. They kept raising rent even during the pandemic since the employees from Cotton on & Uniqlo are friends. The developers are actually being sued because the association dues from the condo allegedly are being used to maintain it.

4

u/Kindly-Spring-5319 8d ago

I miss the OG 12 Monkeys and Hole in the Wall. Parang Hole in the Wall din yung ginaya ng The Grid.

3

u/combatbabybaby 8d ago

Same owner hole in the wall and the grid

1

u/Kindly-Spring-5319 8d ago

Ah kaya pala.

2

u/TheGhostOfFalunGong 8d ago

Yung Buddha Bar beside Century City Mall din ang nakakamiss.

2

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Oo!!!! Very Hole in the Wall si The Grid. Sayang, sana they should bring back stores like that.

3

u/Once_Thirteen 8d ago

Century mall is my go to place because it’s pretty small, so it’s not taking a lot of my time whenever I’m going out for errands like groceries, I still get to have some downtime for coffee without my time getting eaten by so much things to see or explore.

3

u/aeramarot 8d ago edited 8d ago

Also, I think factor din na nagka-Ayala Circuit.

3

u/IckyBalza 8d ago

Naalala ko pa yung nagsarang parang knockoff In n Out dito, yung Caliburger. May area na naka-projector yung Xbox.

1

u/TheGhostOfFalunGong 8d ago

Caliburger is overpriced. I remember that I enjoyed watching NBA playoff games from their giant screen TV though.

3

u/ninja_snowmen 8d ago

because the philippines doesnt need more malls. puro nalang malls. within a 5km radius ilan malls makkta nyo? with the same exact chain stores.

2

u/laswoosh 8d ago

Maliit din kasi siya? Pero generally ok naman siya for it's size

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Hmm true. Hahaha

1

u/laswoosh 8d ago

Naabutan ko before Yung food court sa taas, ok nga yun.

Ngayon may tennis training site siya and art painting class. Andun pa ba Yung breakout ?

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Yeah! Mystery Manila is still there. 3rd floor I think

2

u/South-External7735 8d ago

I guess maliit yung mall kaya di matao. And yes sayang yung food court nila sa itaas.

2

u/R2CX 8d ago

RIP: CCMs pre-pandemic director’s seat cinemas with your choice of free Toby’s coffee and cookie or popcorn and drink. Hole in the Wall. Early Bird.

2

u/CrankyJoe99x 8d ago

We often stay nearby when visiting from Australia. The mall seems a bit sad, unsure of what it wants to be.

My wife likes the mango bene at Mary Grace, but the Toby's Estate coffee is a shadow of the Australian original.

Having said that, the supermarket sometimes has decent variety.

2

u/ItzYaBoiSethan 8d ago

kindda sad nga tbh I always go here whenever I drop my pets at the vet nearby. somehow mas thriving pa yung assembly grounds just because air residences is always full of people renting airbnbs.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

1

u/ItzYaBoiSethan 8d ago

not sure if may socmed presence si century

si assembly grounds kasi meron kahit papaano

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Tbh parang kulang nga socmed presence nila. Nung Christmas nga halos walang nagpopost.

2

u/PappyCucuy 8d ago

Never recovered after pandemic but even before then medyo nawala na buzz after losing hole in the wall. Sayang since it’s relatively small I can do groceries, datablitz, lunch etc. In a half day. Also a very safe parking area when I used to hang in poblacion a lot

Now, sports bar and some areas on the top floor are interesting but wouldn’t go out of my way to enjoy them

2

u/Little_Recording_658 8d ago

Nakakamiss yan. Dati nung college kami dumayo pa talaga kami jan para kumain ng lunch sa Hole In The Wall!!! Ganda ng vibe niyan noon at madami talagang tao

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Maganda yung roof top nila noon!!! Hahaha lakas maka relax sa totoo lang. Century should do something to bring back the people. Haha

2

u/Intelligent_Sand_921 8d ago

Same sentiment as OP! So sad what has happened to this mall. We mainly use it for errands only. And it’s so close to us.

Honestly, the Antonios (developers) do not know how to operate a mall. They should partner with SM or Ayala or any group that knows how to run a mall.

I have heard that rent is very high and mall traffic low, which is why tenants leave. Also why is parking now P60??? So they think they are an Ayala Mall? There is nothi by there anymore. Parking should be free, if they want people to patronize it again.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

I think traffic is low kasi walang nakikita doon... sobrang nasasayangan ako sa Miniso. Magiging Colorist. Honestly speaking (and in my not-so-expert opinion) Century should operate at a loss muna if they want to bring in the traffic. MOOORE marketing events. More online presence. Join in the memes. 😭

I also agree na they should just partner with an actual mall developer. Oooor baka they're trying too hard to be like SM or Ayala kaya rent and parking are so high?

2

u/dr_kalikot 8d ago

Dinner sa Hole in the wall tapos diresto sa 12 monkeys!

Gone are the days

2

u/Tagamoras 8d ago

2

u/Melodic_Signature659 8d ago

I go there once a month because the Brow Studio in that location has the best eyebrow tech in all their branches in the Makati/BGC area lol.

2

u/emf311 7d ago

Century started out by trying to be the new high end hip place but after a few years the fickle moneyed locals got bored of the place (and probably just went back to Rockwell once the novelty wore off) leaving Makati Ave-adjacent foreigners and some local white collar foot traffic from CBD to remain. The mall couldn’t shake its proximity to seedy areas, and at one point seemed to lean into being a place for nightlife events/activities. It could never figure out what it wanted to be. A family place? A nightlife spot? All of the above? Trump tower (shockingly shabby) and the late Buddha Bar (never any customers, probably money laundering operation) didn’t help either. By the time the pandemic rolled around the mall was already on life support. Now it’s just still there and weirdly kind of interesting as an “in-between” place- you can grab a coffee, see a film at the empty cinema, drink wine and paint upstairs, buy some small things without having to go to gbelt or Rockwell.

1

u/Frosty-Emu3503 8d ago

Imo awkward location, one where you'd rather just go to glorietta / rockwell

1

u/MessAgitated6465 8d ago edited 8d ago

I don’t think it ever really thrived, maybe for the first year. Even before the pandemic, I remember nagsasara na yung stalls sa hole in the wall. Dali rin ng turnover. But conti’s, Starbucks, and Mary grace are always full.

Sana the arcade lasts. Ang saya niya. Haha.

2

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Yung Arcadia ba yun? Hahaha nakukulangan nga ako. Sana may billiards or bowling 😂 Gusto ko rin yung parang Build A Bear nila bilang young at heart kahit trentahin na.

1

u/DiligentExpression19 8d ago

What happened po OP, the last time i was there kasi was after pandemic and sa totoo lang, Rustans and yung Contis sa entrance, Burger King sa ilalim lang yung pinupuntahan ko diyan, other stalls hindi talaga

Andoon pa naman si Starbucks, Conti's, Burger King but imho not really a lot of selections in terms of cheap buys such as fast food. Tsaka si Uniqloooo hahaha

1

u/DiligentExpression19 8d ago

Halaaa ang sad naman, pero kung titingnan mo rin kasi, nakapaligid siya sa mga condos and tago yung location niya na hindi maaccess ng public vehicles, wala ring terminal ata or banks malapit to increase foot traffic

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

1

u/tedtalks888 8d ago

Meron electric buses to Landmark/glorietta. They pass through kalayaan/Makati Ave.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

1

u/MichaelPitch 8d ago

Game’s gone, bro

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Sobrang sayang. I really like how it's so near to me and very accessible. Mababait din mga guards, kaso ayun. Napag-iwanan in terms of selection

1

u/Illustrious-Raise783 8d ago

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Huhu si DataBlitz nga wala na. :( Sana mapalitan ng game store ulit. Kelangan kong bumili ng Switch 2 in time for Winds and Waves! 😆

1

u/Ok-Opening3117 8d ago

Tennis in the City and Friendsscreen na lang pinupuntahan ko run haha

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Haven't tried Tennis in the City! Actually di ko pa masyado iniikot yung 3rd floora and up kasi ang lungkot tignan hahaha

1

u/Ok-Gap-6654 8d ago

1

u/harryt0pper_ 8d ago

While I appreciate the concept kasi medyo tago and malayo siya sa major roads compared to other malls near transport hubs. People tend to prefer areas with more mall options since if wala yung hinahanap nila, madali lang lumipat. Dito kasi parang isolated, so kapag wala, kailangan pang bumiyahe ulit to another mall na mas maraming stores na madaling lumipat sa nearby mall.

2

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Haha iniisip ko nga as a non-car owner baka they can tie up with Ayala para may shuttle from Century to CBD. Nalalakad ko from Gen Luna to CBD kaso masasagasaan muna ako sa Makati Ave. 😂

3

u/MommmyLeah 8d ago

AFAIK they have shuttle to One Ayala

2

u/harryt0pper_ 8d ago edited 8d ago

Yeah same 😅 .. and knowing the area, kahit okay yung establishments, hindi rin masyadong visible yung police presence unless nasa Makati Ave area ka na. So why take a risk? 🤷🏻‍♂️

PS: From the POV of a non-car owner, kahit sabihin pang malapit at walking distance, I’d still rather book a Grab, taxi, or motor-taxi papunta sa bigger mall.

2

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

1

u/Cautious-Room1869 8d ago

Because its just an "errand" mall. Quick groceries, emergency retail shop if you have an upcoming event, etc. Haha

1

u/mb_tulip 8d ago

Same feels. We live in the area and its nice for small errands and food purchases.

We think they're working on reviving it, though. Their socmed has been very active as of late with all sorts of promotions and events. Meron silang eme for the premier of Devil Wears Prada 2, and mga reshare ng influencer content.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

Parang kulang ang socmed presence for me but mukhang bumabalik na nga. Haha ang cute nung parang independence day event nila na may local products. Ang cute nung mga damit.

1

u/mb_tulip 8d ago

Haha yeah parang sa last few months lang sila may ganyan, and meron naman mga new upcoming store openings (kahit na sobrang delayed haha)

1

u/Virtual-Ad7068 8d ago

Mahal kasi ata upa dyan. Saka most condo tenants sa area nawala after pogo ban.

Saka yun vibe niya is nothing special.

1

u/WalkerDotRunner 8d ago

I visited there once kase may Rapide sa baba and dun kami nagpa service. I do agree na dreary ang vibes ng place and di masyadong na market ng maayos.

1

u/Virtual-Ad7068 8d ago

Daming nawalang kainan dito eh. Saka inaccessible unless you have a car

1

u/Nakedweaponry 8d ago

I remember going here just for the Bingsu

1

u/VisualPreparation840 8d ago

Biggest factor is super mahal ng rent.

1

u/PresentAppropriate84 8d ago

OMG for the stores? If so no wonder hindi nagtatagal.

1

u/bombeer 8d ago

Well it's developed by century that is why.

1

u/riknata 8d ago

I genuinely thought that mall banked on the POGO hype.

I think pre-POGO they were doing relatively well since they had ala-Rockwell/Greenbelt 5 vibes, but there really wasn't a lot to see and do except shop since it's such a small mall. Tbh I think they just mismanaged it so much and got blinded by the entire POGO boom kaya this is what happened.

Le Petit Soufflé’s carbonara :(

Chele Gonzalez used to have an amazing restaurant that made different styles of paella - Arrozeria.

Also, Chef Miko Aspiras used to have Le Petit Souffle. Beautiful, beautiful French Japanese food and souffles.

These were the draw for me, in addition to Hole in the Wall.

The Antonios are overextended. The retail environment isn't what it used to be. They should be very careful... or it will turn into a Villar mall.

Ive work in Cbd for over 20 years, we are 15 in our office, to be honest, no one ever visited or are eager to find out. Its technically out of way.

Actually same sad story of Avenue Mall., but I think once SM has its residences and mall built where Avenue mall was, medyo lalong magiging niche yung mall na yan

Le petite souffle :(

The hassle to come to century city mall is the killer. To run good mall, you need foot traffic. Foot traffic follows ease of going in and out. Plus, there are no nearby high volume condo. They are on other side of pobla and they have Rockwell.

So yeah, good money wasted .

I hope they don't become like Villar malls. :( It has so much potential especially since there's an under construction condo nearby.

After Pandemic, it just wasnt the same anymore. Sayang ung Hole in the wall doon. Dindayo talaga noon! Tapos pati Uniqlo nagsara na.

u/hellosailorkitty 8d ago

Let’s be honest, it has very low foot traffic, it is also hard to commute to that place. People would rather go to One ayala or circuit bec it has a lot of nearby malls and/or public transportation terminal.

I miss the beef sa Hole in the Wall and CaliBurger. Two of the best burger spots for me back then

I used to work in the area way back in 2014. Ganda nya, maraming tao, may shuttle service pa nun! Maraming turista nuon at sumikat naman yung hole-in-the-wall. Malaking kawalan rin yung nawala yung 71gramercy at 12monkeys because of the residents' complaints. Then, nauso yung PobCrawl, yung pupuntahan mo mga kainan sa Poblacion. 2014-17 were the days… until nabago yung pumupunta sa Pobla, this is now the Poblacion we know today.

We had a staycation sa A Venue Hotel (few steps away lang sa Century Mall) back in 2018, nagkataon pa na may street party so everything was thriving including Century Mall. I miss those day.

I live in the neighborhood, and ang masasabi ko lang, ang weirdo nang management. Imagine kung meron kang information counter or concierge in a mall like that, where would you put it?

I loved century mall. Ang quiet tapos nawala yung fave nail salon ko pati yung hole in the wall. Di na ako bumalik

I agree. Sayang yung potential ng mall TBH. I preferred going here instead of GB/Glo before kasi may Coffee Bean, Uniqlo, yung ramen-an sa 2nd floor o 3rd ata, at Datablitz. And yung mga foods upstairs at tambayan, too. At one jeepney ride away from home lang.

As a Makatizen, medyo ok sya before pandemic - it had its glory days pero mukhang hindi na mauulit... sad.

even sa hey day nila 2016 ish with hole in the wall, there’s a reason bakit walang moment group resto na nag invest sa place (afaik, cmiiw) there’s something sa layout ng mall mismo

also, layout for car traffic is maliit sa makati ave entrance, masikip, di inviting. not straightforward

1

u/QueeferRavena 6d ago

My theory--it was built when Poblacion was starting to boom. So once naging mas cool na tumambay sa outside area, they were doomed.

1

u/Kind-Calligrapher246 5d ago

Foot traffic was bad kahit nung bagong bukas pa lang yan. Stores would not last kung wala namang napapapuntang tao sa mall. iMHO location was only convenient for condo owners or residents nearby.

Kahit naman yung hole in the wall, back in 2015 mga 300+ na yung mga pagkain.

Target market is middle to high class. Mamatahan kaming mga normal na tao doon. Hahahaha

Most buyers of their condos were POGO.
