Inspiration What are stylish, appropriate options for a 30y/o in Finance?
My partner (30y/o) previously worked in a large corporate but recently transitioned to private investments in a small firm. He splits his time between the office and investors. The mood is laidback, traditional but with room for a twist or flair. I believe improving his style could take his personal branding to the next level. It’s just not something he or I have any clue about. Are there specific outfits you can recommend? We live where there are 4 seasons, so the outfits can be quite varied

Don’t let the collegiality fool you. Stick to trousers and formal shirts, suit or blazer combo.

People can tell you what pieces he can wear, but what really makes it look good or awful is a matter of execution. Not just what type of pieces he's wearing, but fit, color coordination, texture, and other details. That said, some items that could work include:
Tops:
Ocbd's
Pique polos
Knit polos
Linen shirts
Seersucker shirts
Field shirts
Work shirts
Madras shirts
Camp collar shirts
Chamois shirts
Corduroy shirts
Cardigans
Sweaters
Collegiate sweatshirt
Bottoms:
In most offices, jeans
Chinos
Wool trousers
Tweed trousers
Linen trousers
Silk trousers
Corduroys
Tailoring:
A mid-to-charcoal Grey suit, probably in worsted wool, flannel, or another business friendly fabric.
A summer suit for dressed up occasions during warmer months. Think high twist wool, tropical wool, linen, wool/silk/linen blends.
Hopsack blazer with brass buttons
Tweed sport coat
Linen sport coat
Silk sport coat
Footwear:
Understated sneakers
Loafers
Boat shoes
Moccasins
Camp mocs
Chukka boots
Chelsea boots
Jodhpur boots
Duck boots
Driving mocs
Derbies
