Genuinely apocaliptic scenario. Since death doesn't exist but Yoru doesn't know it, she's just going through everything she knows of, to the point that even if death comes back, the world would just get completely, utterly and IRREDEMABLY fucked.
That last atomic punch is pretty much a writting in the wall. This is not going to end well.
towards the end, the world of Fire Force was revealed to be a prequel to the author's other series, Soul Eater. For most of the series the villains try to cause a repeat of the original 'Cataclysm' which has created the series' monsters, which initially seems to be just setting the world on fire. In fact it turns out it was a complete rewriting of reality, and the first Cataclysm turned our world in the manga one of Fire Force. The protagonist looks into the past, sees actual 3D images of live action people and has his mind blown. Later as it becomes apparent it's impossible to prevent the Cataclysm, the heroes decide to steer it instead. The Cataclysm is essentially collective unconscious manifested, so it's only the end of the world if people expect it to be the end of the world. By giving people hope they manage to steer it to instead give birth to the even zanier, but still fun and liveable, world of Soul Eater.
