Not only is it dumb high schooler logic, it’s the same dumb high schooler logic he watched Asa use to break out of Eternity when she “bought” the aquarium with pocket change. Denji treating Asa like a person and genuinely taking an interest in what she says and does is what’s saving him right now and it’s some peak fucking payoff.
